I'm going to buy this third hand from a friend but he can't remember what plane it is. Anyone know?

If you look at the turtle deck in photo #1 it tells you.
Look right behind the canopy.
It is an Extra 300S.

Default It appears to be a MW Extra
In looking at the pics it apears to be a MW extra 300. It has the much lowered flat stab. The cowl and gear also look correct. Let me ask does it have a 1 piece 80" span? If so it is a Midwest Extra

Looks like midwest to me also but in the front view I don't see the seam in the belly pan for the one piece wing.
