Hi Guys,
Always have received great feedback here. You guys are the reason I took in the Extase. I am at it again. I have a shot at bringing in a 100" Staudacher 300 3D RTF. YES, ready to fly. Everything done. Name brand engine, digital servos, all set up and ready. Just ad your rec. and batt.
Plane is nice. Glass fuse, painted with cored, sheeted and covered wings. A U.S.A. kinda scheme with flags and the likes.
Sweet looking and flying. Here is the thing. It all comes at a premium. I would have to get $2500 ish for the plane. My question to you all is this is a new concept in this size. Would the giant scale guys and the ARF builders go for it.
Clearly I will not be selling 2500 units a month. But it would be worth it if I could move even 200 a year? What do you think????
PS assume that the plane is 1st rate with name electronics and engine. 80cc single w/electronic ignition. NICE STUFF.

Anthony or Andy,
Maybe you should post this question in the Giant scale forum. Even though I may tr 60 and 120 size stuff down the runway, my Gonads want to go hide as if I've just been in freezing water, if I'm faced with a 100" ish plane of that cost etc.
$2500 seems a good price, I would think $3000 would be minimum for a 1/3 ARF, engine(80-100cc single) and digital servos(8-10), but maybe pilots of these larger planes need to build up trust in the product, by doing some of the final building/assembly them selves.

I could go for a plane like this. Please provide details and a pic or two if possible. A combo like this just might be the "ticket" for us guys who like tp fly large planes and really don't like stick building. Heck, I get enough experience building just building back what I can tear up!

100" plane RTF easy grand
2 per wing
1 per elev
2 rudder 800.00 easy unless you........
motor zdz 600.00
da 1200
spinner, prop, wires, switches, batteries, tail wheel, wheels,
even going with a zdz 80 which is cheaper when compared to that bad azz DA-100 you will have easily spent 2400.00
This is one hell of a deal of course you need to have it with what people are wanting (equip wise) maybe it could be like cars do:
for the basic firebird 2500.00
with jr 8411 add ????
with Menz prop subract ????
with a Airmodels 3 blades add ????
peacekeeper muffler no ex. charge
cannister mufflers add ????
I think you get the idea........
Edges, Caps, 300, and 330 seem to be the hot ticket..........
Radiocraft sells the stad. RTC for $ 1095.00 so ... need i say more...........
2500.00 you say, hum you have got to get some wheels and deals completed with the makers of motors, servos, and all the goodies to pull this one off or would that be just the intro price?
anyway keep us posed............

One thing to think about, and Krayzc hinted at it... Look how many big Staudacher kits are offered. Not many, Lanier and a couple of others. Everyone seems to currently want Edges, Extra 330, or the Cap and that is what everyone is selling. I think the next boom will be from the Hangar 9 Sukhoi and the Fiberclassics Yak 55. Although I have a Staudacher sitting in the box to be built, I don't see many others wanting this plane. Don't know why either, it seems just as capable as anything else if you do tail mods like everyone else is doing.

You might also want to consider the liability of some yoyo who just HAS to do a full-bore dive from 1,000 ft, and with max (3D) elevator pull-out, the wings fail. Of course the story YOU would get is "gee, there I was flying straight and level at half throttle, and the wings just folded..." Given that they did absolutely none of the building or even assembling, it would just HAVE to be manufacturing fault, right ??! Then they want a refund, or a totally new plane, etc...
OK, so maybe I am just a little sinical...but, something to think about when folks lay out that kind of money....

Or the guy who tries to learn how to fly on it!
Sounds like a great price and there would be a market for a turnkey set up. Choice of airframe is tough because of how quickly the latest new face comes out.

I wonder how big your market would really be. A lot of us "giant scalers on a budget" like to kid ourselves about what our planes cost by buying them in small peices and never actually adding up the total.
The other end of the spectrum, "giant scalers NOT on a budget" probably wouldn't bother with such a plane since it's not nearly big and expensive enough.
