Tower Hobbies KAOS

The Kaos is an impeccable flier, they rarely come any better. Most of the Great Planes line of ARF's and kits have the Kaos wing profile. The Ultra Sport is almost an exact copy of the Kaos, except for some cosmetics. The quality of the ARF is debatable.

I bought two of them one for myself and one for a friend.
They were in my opinion one of the worst arfs I have seen.
The add says expertly covered with Monokote. this was on of the worst covering job I have seen in a long time both of them have had the covered heated too hot and the covering was heated to its limit. To get the covering down and tight both are full of wrinkles. the firewall were crooked and too short. The wings did not fit the wing saddle and required a lot of work to make fit. The nose gear appears to be of a softer material than norman and bends in any direction easilly. I will have to replace mine to eliminiate this problem.
The wind dowels holes in the bulkhead had two drilled holes. Side by side. The holes drilled in the wing did not fit the hold down block and the block had to be pluged and re drilled. The bulkhead required the same mods.
If you have any more questions email me.
After everything was corrected the plane flew like a real Kaos should.

Tower stopped selling their Kaos ARF around January.
While they didn't go in to detail, they admitted there were some problems witht he first run of the ARF.
They are now selling the sd run...I understand it should have solved some of the problems mentioned in above posts.
Anyone receive the Tower ARF recently?
OBTW, I have the Tower .40 kit version of the ARF.
It's the best all around plane I've ever owned!

Hi Vince,
The reason i asked for it to be removed is that the responces where good enough for me.
Have no problem what so ever with any of the comments.
Just thought this was a thread that did not need to go any further.

I just bought one. Based on what I've read, a lot of the previous problems have been corrected. Tracks quite well. The only real problem I've had to this point is with the control rods, but that's related to the use of "park flyer" adjustable connectors between
the control rods and the servo horn. I fly on a pretty rough grass surface, so replacing the adjustable connector with soldered
clevises cured the problem. As far as the nose gear, it's pretty strong considering the beating it takes on our field. I'm going to replace the stock gear with a Fults dual one.
Other than that, the plane is pretty sound.
