I'll pretty new to building and can't figure out how to fit the wheel pants onto the axel on the Aresti. Can anyone explain? The instructions are useless for this issue. I thought I knew how it's "supposed " to go together but the issue is with the axel and the hole in the pant for the axel. Does anyone have any pics?
Also, is the small screw that goes through the gear and the pant (connected to the blind nut in the pant) supposed to hold the entire pant. Is the axel supposed to hold the pant also?

Yea, I noticed, too. :-)
1) Be careful to drill a hole in the side with the plywood doubler inside. I drilled the wrong side and had to glass a plywood doubler on the other side.
2) The instructions say measure up 5/8" on the pant to drill a hole. This is too far. If you go up 5/8", the wheel will scrub the top of the pant. Mine are about 7/16" Measure and check first. I drilled a 1/8" hole to do some checking with the wheel in the pant.
3) You need to make the hole large enough to accomodate the hex head of the "bolt" on the axle. The pant sits against the landing gear and is not held on by the axle bolt. Folks tend to shape the hole to fit the hex head. It will be a fairly large hole.
4) Mount the axles to the LG and mount the LG to the plane. Put the pants and wheel on and hold the pant in place with the model on a table. Level the rear bottom of the pant and mark the pant through the 4-40 in the LG .
4) The only thing holding the pant to the landing gear is the 4-40 bolt. Instructions say 2 4-40 bolts per pant. Mine came with one per. One seems to be enough. I'd like to put two on.
Note in the photo that the pant is against the leg. Sorry, but I wasn't eager to remove it to show the big hole.
