Hi
I was wondering if anyone has had a chance to fly there Pacific Aeromodel Gee Bee Y yet. If you have how does it fly and what motor are you using. Mine should be in the air this weekend with saito 1.80.

Fred,
I test flew one last weekend for a guy at a fly-in in Harrisonburg Va. He had a Saito 150 in his. It took about a 1/2 pound of lead to balance it, but it still felt very light. He was using a Moki prop, I don't know the spec's on the prop but it appeared to be a 16". I am planning on using a Saito 180 and a 17x8 APC on mine. I also am going to put a Tru-Turn dome type spinner on mine which should take care of alot of the nose weight. Anyway......The airplane flew great. The 150 was plenty of power. The airplane was off of the ground in about 200 ft. The only trim needed was 2 clicks of down. The throws were set as called for in the manuel. I did not do any aerobatics but the owner of the airplane did in later flights, loops, rolls etc looked great. Landings are no problem at all, no tendencies to tip stall at lower speeds. "Wheel" landings are no problem at all.
