If you are looking for a good size model of this plane do a Yahoo search for Airborne Magazine, which I believe is the Australian R/C magazine, and they do have a website. Search through their plans and you will find a Pilatus porter. I ordered the plans a few years ago and still have them with the intent of building one in the future. For about $25 USD you can get the plans and the glass kit (windshield and a couple of pieces of glass for the sides). The plans are super nice and will make a nice model. I plan on building it with a .90 -1.20 four stroke. Check it out if you are interested in a set of plans.

BTW I read the ad for the PC-6 and I want one. I have a G-23 with a FEMA on board electric starter which would be super nice in that ARF.

I emailed Airborne Mag. several times asking what the additional postage would be for the Pilatus plan 550, canopy and moulding would be to central New York state, ... dead silence! So I figured why push; I ordered the ARF Pilatus from RCPlanePower and will use a Z-23 or a converted weeder 31.

Ambushed the UPS truck yesterday and got my Porter.
The box was so beat up that we had to inspect the contents before acceptance but the plane was in good shape.
I don't do kits at all, just ARF's (a lot of um) and OPP'S (other peoples planes) and this Porter is one of the best I've seen! There is no wood grain or unsanded joints to be seen under the wrinkle free covering on any of the components.
The fuse is big, at the cabin it's 7 3/4" wide and 10 1/4" high with a hatch on top that is 7 1/4" X 7 7/8". The firewall is 7 7/8" X 6 1/2". You can put a bomb bay in this thing and drop water balloons.
The hardware is the usual stuff that you find in most ARF's but unlike most ARF's there are no wheels or fuel tank. There is a wide range of engines to be used on this plane, glow and gas so the fuel tank type and size would be personal preference.
Personal preference would dictate wheel choice as well.
On this plane I'll use "Tundra" tires like on "bush" planes in Alaska and Canada and I'll trim it out in in my own design of a U.S. Coast Guard Rescue plane with drop tanks under the wings.
I saw these tanks on a full scale Turbo Porter, looked great.
I know, not scale but I have a "artistic license".
The instruction manual is minimal with just one exploded drawing and some text. Granted, the assembly of this plane is pretty simple but I sure like the manuals that come with Hangar 9 and Great Planes ARF's. "One picture is worth a thousand words".
I put mine back in the box for now, must finish Mustang, must finish Mustang, must finish Mustang...
My G-38 is overdue!
