I was just checking their website and see that they have the 66" Edge 540 and the Extra's on sale for $159.95
I finally got my Edge together and now have about 6 flights on (haven't had much time over the past few weeks [
]) and that thing is really sweet. It needed very little trim on take off and it flies like it's on rails. The TT 91FS I have on it swinging an APC 14x6 really moves it at a nice clip. Others before had commented on how slow it can land and let me tell you, I wish I could have gotten my trainers to land that slow
. Another nice thing about this bird, the tip stalls are almost non-exsistant.
This has got the be one of the best, if not the best, birds I have ever flown. The price is GREAT and their customer service is absolutely fantastic.
In case you hadn't noticed, I am one very happy customer
. I am thinking about the 66" Extra next.
Just in case anyone is interested,

I second and third the comments about Vector Flight planes.
I just..2:30am finished my new Sukhoi.
Standard servos, an Evolution .61NT that will not quit running, what a joy
not to have to worry about engine conking out.
I put exactly 1 ounce in the right wing tip for lateral balance
and a 1200mAh 4.8 pack under the wing bolt mount plate.
Everything fit, the hardware is U.S. made Sullivan/DuBro
and I am again a happy camper.
Vector Flight is the best value going bar none.
With the exchange rate and the customer service that VF has.
What a deal.
I plan on posting some pix tomorrow.
Im gettting punchy

Been flying the 58 inch Extra for a while now... I have a Magnum .91 fs in it and love it.. Flys like it is on rails ... I just received my 66 inch Extra and plan to put a Saito 100 in it.
It is a great looking ARF.. Can't wait to get it together... These really fulfill my Extra habit... And the customer serverce.. WOW.. 24/7 it seems..
Yes, I too am a happy VF fan club memeber

I have a set of wings for a 66" VF Extra if anyone needs them. I crashed the plane and the fuse was destroyed but the wings came out pretty good. There are a couple dents, but nothing major. If anyone is interested, PM or EM me.

I am wilting to build a few other projects then I am going to order a VF edge 540 and give it a try. If interested in the cowl and belly pan e-mail me at [email protected].

Had a VF Edge last year until I piled it into tera firma doing a low level knife edge. One item that bothered me about it, however, was a wing root gap going towards the trailing edge. Does anybody know if this has been corrected? Planning on buying another one by the end of this month, great plane.

They are worth every penny and then some! Excellent planes to sharpen your skills in the 60-90 range. Ive now been flying the Vectorflight 66 inch Edge for a year with over 300 flights. Still my favorite plane to fly when its rock and roll time! Tracks true like an arrow and very precise in aerobatics. Its a blast to slow it down to almost a stall, which is very slow in this plane, and then open up throttle and pull straight up.

The gap between the wings and fuse may still be there. I bought mine just before Christmas and it had the gap. I hope they get that squared away, but it is still one great model.

Got a response back from Vectorflight explaining that they have most of the wing gap situation licked, along with a few other improvements.

Well Crash Master, VF quote ' The gap between the wing root rib and the fuseledge side has been eliminated from the top side by curving the TE inwards to match the fuseledge contour. However, there may be a small gap on the lower side of the seam, and we have not been able to get to it yet' So sounds like they just about goit it licked. I like a company that belives in continuous impovement. I wonder if they have any other products in the works.

The 300Ss have no gap. On the Edge the wings butt on the fuselage sides, and there is a very small gap about 1/16 inch wide between the fuselage and the wing towards the trailing edge. Its pretty inconspicous and I left it like it is. But it can be easily filled with a small tapered balsa piece.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.
I ordered the Extra today. I've got a brand new Saito 100 for it

I am using a 14-6 APC with a 91 FX on mine. A buddy flies the Vector 66 inch 300S with a Saito 100 using 15-6. Both fly great. The FX has higher rpms and gives it more speed, but the Saito has a very nice sound and awesome low and mid range thrust.[8D]

So how does that .91fx run.. After reading about all the problems with them on this site I am very hesitant to buy one... Is it one of the newer ones ?.. I understand they made
some improvements on the needle valve on them...
Thanks
Roger
