Default Question on a Chip Hyde Double Vision

Can someone answer a simple question for me. I have tried several times to contact Chip Hyde but he doesn't respond to e-mails and phone calls.
I am starting to assemble a Double Vision and noticed in the instruction manual that the center cabane struts are 2 different lengths and that the front one is supposed to be 1/4" longer than the rear. On mine they are the same length. Is this correct or a mistake in the kit?
Also does anyone have an extra canopy? Mine is defective. This is why I tried to get in touch with Chip. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Pete
