I have a new OS .52 four stroke looking for a home. I'm looking for a sport plane or a fun-fly type plane, perhaps a 3D trainer. I'm aware of the modeltech magic line of planes, which might be possibilities. Any comments on them? Any other recommendations?

Waag - the Magic is a nice plane for pure 3D, only 'problem' with the plane is that the fuse is very narrow and you will have one hell of a time installing the receiver if its not a slim/small version. A normal receiver and 5 cell batt pack will be extremely tight. Plane flies ever so nice and easy. The wire landing gear suckz ... it can break and needs to be reinforced. Wrap wire around it and then solder it.
The Magic Extra is more acrobatic/pattern like. Plane is lovely but the only problem is that the stripes will come off so please remember to iron them when you are getting the plane ready. Also this plane has a very weak fuse, the area behind the UC is the weak point, no hard landings please ... would be great to reinforce it with some 3/32 ply perhaps. This plane flies really nice too. Gentle and floaty.
For a good sport plane try the WM Super Sport. Pretty acrobatic too.

www.swanyshouse.com Look for the Fat Free Taco.
Below are pictures of mine.
The first photos is the plane with a os .25 FX which was switch out to a Saito 40. So much better now. The OS .52 is out of the weight limit class for this plane, but if you just add some weight to the tail to balance, you should be fine.
