I just maidened mine yesterday (OS 52) and can tell I will enjoy this plane for a long time.

Was in your boat a few days ago... just look at the the throttle arm and memorize which way it operates for open. I had my throttle servo installed when I put the engine in so I could make the adjustments at that time.

OR you can do it "on the job" ... start the engine at mid-range and see if it's operating in the right direction, if not reverse the servo.

Good luck. It's an awesome plane. Sig did a great job with this one.

PS - I didn't make that weird bend for the throttle pushrod like they suggested. I drilled another hole and made a straight shot for the throttle arm on the carb. I used the aft two holes for the pushrod guide, tho.

what about setting up your idle and cutoff settings? Do you use a computer radio? did you bother with idle up or throttle cut? I figuered out the open / close by blowing into the fuel inlet and working the arm - I'm trying to determine full throttle and closed settings (without servo bind) and idle/cutoff position????

Yeah, I'm using a computer radio - so it was easy for me to determine the proper idle and max points. I am using the throttle cut function to kill the engine, too. I understand, as it may be harder for a non-computer radio to do this.

I have the Saito 56 in mine, what a blast, i can hover the little sucker. Having this plane has convinced me to go to a 1/4 scale Staudacher.
