Default hanger ( mentor engine size

the hanger 9 calls for a ,40 to .58 2 stroke,,

I want to use my older sk supertiger 61 to fly it..it will employ retacts and mfg.states flying weight of 6 to 7 pounds..will I be overpowering it to an exteme..???the article in model plane shows a 4 stroke 70..I would rather not have to purchase four stroke..one last thought I do have a unsed new older fs 9o..was going to sell it but it might work too..help

I have a OS 50 2 stroke on my Mentor. With retracts it weighs in at just over 7 lbs. I would like to have more power for takeoff, but once she's airborne with the gear retracted, the plane is very fast. I think your Super Tiger 60 will be a great combo.

I had retracts on mine with a Magnum 46 XL, and It flew very scale like. Takeoff from grass was a little difficult with the small wheels. The 61 would work in it just fine, but you may find that you need to use a pitts style muffler instead of the standard one. You'll have fun with this plane, good luck

thanks guys..I sort of figured the 60 would be okay with retracts..I am not looking to burn up the sky but I want to punch it when going vertical or just make the aerobatics a bit faster..I certainly like 4 strokes but I want to utlize what I have currently in inventory..can I ask what mfg. retracts you guys used???? oh and I have an older and reliable running enya 60 too and I plan to use a pitt style muffler to keep the cowl scale......

I am using the Hobbico .40 size retracts in my Mentor. Initially I had lots of problems, but I finally decided to use JB weld to keep the wheel/axles from turning on the struts, and now the retracts appear solid on the grass runway.
