Yes that is exactly what I did. set the correct angle first the snug down the set screw. then I silver soldered the unit on to the leg. then you can remove the set screw and fill it full of solder. works great and will never give out. I used the stock gear but enlarged the trunnion to accept the 3/16 wire. as they say in the full size world. "ops check good return to service" Greg
