Default H9 Texan w/ gas engine???

Hi Guys,
I know this is such a crazy question, so do boo me.
I've been flying for a good while and I can always find the rtf plane(s) I want by way of swap meets or internet. Most of the planes I have are gas engine planes.
For a long time I've wanted an AT 6 Texan and was wanting one big enough for a gas engine.
Well I gave up recently and bought this H9 arf.

Is there any way this bird can handle a gasoline engine?????
Remember, I'm not much of a builder, but I think I can do this.
I'm sure there are some gas engines I'm not thinking of.
I've thought of a g23, g26 maybe even an old Malony??
I don't know if any of these will work or if there is anything else.
Please give my your comments.
Thanks,
M

Good luck with that one. Besides voiding the warrenty, I don't think it's strong enough. I had to build up the firewall, and the gear is not very good. Do a search on this plane, and you'll find alot out about it.

Let me know if it works out for you, but I wouldn't do it.

HI Guys,
The Saito 100 converted.
That's the sort of idea I'm talking about.
Is that possible and who does it?
Can anyone give me another glow to gas idea?
Thanks,
Matt

Saito 100 -- $279
CH ignition -- $119 ... This is close to $400! Not to mention the added weight of the ignition and battery and the loss of power going to gasoline!! Sure, it's do-able, but at a significant cost and questionable benefit.

Just put a $179 TT FS .91 in it and be done with it... Spend the rest of the money on fuel and you'll still be ahead 10 gallons later and the plane will be much more enjoyable.

Save the conversion project for something in the 1.20 range

Scale size prop may be in the 17 to 18 inch diameter range. No ground clearance on the H9 AT-6

14,000 RPM with a Saito 100? On Gas?? Maybe with a 1" pitch prop, but you won't be going anywhere.

The Saito 100 runs in the 9000 - 10,000 RPM range, maybe a ittle more.

14K RPM is for 2 cycles only.
