Default Kange 1/5 scale Monocoupe?

Has anyone seen any of these? I was thinking about getting one and putting in a ST 90 2 stroke.

There's tons of posts on that plane. Do a search for monocoupe and you will find all the info you need.

Smokin

I have one that isn't built yet. I have built the 1/4 scale one and it flies well.

The kit quality is fantastic.

I have one in the box as well, it's next on my assembly table. The quality is quite good, above average. I have heard that they are nice flyers too. There are some other threads on this board but not alot as suggested. Most threads pertain to the 1/4 size.

A .90 two stroke won't give you the flight characteristics you need for this plane and you will have a ton of ballast in the nose. You will need at least twice that size on gasoline (not glow) to give the plane what it deserves. A 1.8 gasoline two stroke (G26, RCS 140) has been the concensus of builders/owners/flyers of this plane on this forum.

I have researched this plane myself and find them highly desirable. Unfortunately, my wife has issued an official buying embargo/hiatus/whatever until after the holidays and my birthday in January, so I can't buy anything for a while...[]

Haywood,

I think you are confusing the 1/5th scale (77" span) with the 1/4 scale (96" span)

I contacted Ray at Kangke about my intentions of putting a Saito 90 radial in my 1/5 scale version and he thinks it will fly just fine.

A friend at our field has a Saito 91 in his and it flies very scale like. The 91 2 stroke should have plenty of power.

Bob
