yes that would be sketchy. Something is not right if the engine wont reach even with the spacers. Theres a large spacer with grooves on it that goes in between the engine and the spinner backplate, it slides over the crank shaft with the grooved side facing the prop. Is that spacer there? If not, your engine may seem it need to be mounted more forward than is needed.
