Default Kyosho Stearman

Hi Guys n' Gals,

Building the Kyosho PT-17 Stearman tonight, and made a bit of a blunder[:@]. The Elevators have been joined without the joining bar being glued in[:'(]. I've been to the Kyosho website and the link to the replacement parts section is not working for some reason[sm=confused.gif].

Does anybody know of the code that I need for the replacement stab and elevators?

Any help would be great!!!!

John, you should not have to replace the parts. Hopefully you realized your mistake before you also glued on the rudder. Perhaps even before gluing the horizontal stab to the fuse? Just cut through the CA hinges. To re-hing the elevators just cut new slots in different locations. Use new CA hinges, or your hinge of choice. And don't forget to connect the elevators this time.

This is my dads model and he would like to find out about replacement parts before we do anything.

Thanks

I just bought a Kyosho Super Stearmen 40. Can you tell me the recommended throws and balance point for this airplane?

Thanks

I've only got the PT-17 manual, but it's supposed to be the same as the Super. Rudder 35mm, elevator 20mm, aileron 15mm. CG is 15-20mm back from leading edge of lower wing. You can download the manual by going to the Kyosho web site. Last time I looked, I couldn't find the Super manual, here's the link for the PT-17.

The fulcrum point for balancing the Kyosho Super Stearman should be located four inches from the leading edge under the top wing, according to the supplemental instructions contained in the construction manual.
A suggestion: Angle the landing gear strut forward so the wheel axles are in line with the leading edge of the top wing when the model is in flight attitude (horizontal). This will keep it from "nosing over".
