I have been following the Dago Red for a few years. This is a 60 size with a 65inch wing. Was the Dago ever in this color scheme many years ago-like more than 8 . Or is this a new color setup Looks like it say #3 on the back end , If so its an oldie?

That's a VooDoo, or something.
Looks to be the same airframe EZ marketed years ago in the true Dago Red colors. Basically, it was their P-51 with a different top deck/canopy.
A GREAT-flying model hindered by crap retracts. It was my first (and last) retract-equipped model. But it would be a crime to fly something like this with fixed gear, yes?
I have been wondering if the new EZ kits are the same exemplary quality we saw before the factory burned down.
I know the price is at the same levels of extortion... but you got your money's worth, IMO, back then.

Steve - they are nice ... the new ones are great, I love the quality of the Mustang and the Zero. Personal favourite is the Mustang, you have a chrome finish on certain parts and the plane looks so nice on a low pass. I think its best on a 4C engine w/o the muffler!

it is the Voodoo as so many have suggested already. EZ, the manufacturer, is extremely well respected in the mid-size ARF world. their kits are not cheap but construction is usually a very good balance of weight and strength.
tIANci suggested a 4C w/o muffler, which means that it may need (not must but may) to be the Y.S. series or pumped. i know my friend who flies the World Models Dago Red with an O.S. 70 Ultimate without the muffler. just the header sticking out of the cowl. sounds like a gasser!

If that's the one on epay, then it's a knock off...I believe there have been several versions of this plane with different color schemes. A friend has the all yellow one. There is also a silver one with red trim...There are also 2 different sizes...

oooo... if it's a knockoff then it's a good thing extratorker and proptop spoke up! if it's not an EZ then no telling what quality it is. anyway, you can ask the guy who's selling it. if he tells you he doesn't know, don't buy it.

Thing is its a 60 size which makes it stand out (for what thats worth) Right now all I think we have is a .40 size by WM. Strip it down and check the fram and recover and a new set of retracts and you could still save time and money. I might bite! And yeh this is the one on Ebay

Well I won the "Voodoo" something. Looking at this objectively I see it this way.
1. The Arf is an NIB but probably a few years old?
2. I paid $200 for a 65inch wing plane with flaps and retracts which is good when comparing size to the others
3. If I do to this as I do all my other arfs like beefing up firewall and retract mounts. it should be a good plane.
4. I am going to remove the covering on the bottom of the wing to check thngs out, plus I make all my wings white on the bottom.
5. Throw some 120plus fourstroke up front and "do it.!"
6. I think I did okay here, plus nobody else in this area has one.

Not so sure it's old. I've seen a few of them sold lately on ebay. There is a company selling planes that look like other manufacturers. I've seen a 40 size cap that looks like the Matt Chapman one sold by GP.

Well, I'll be interested to know what kind of box it comes in...if it's decorated, or a plain white box.
My flyin' buddy buys a lot of planes off epay, and a few have been these "knock-offs" or whatever you want to call 'em. I am currently putting together a Seamaster type (only it's about 10% larger?) and he's had 2 Cap 232's that came from a guy who changes his name and they come in a plain white box. Last 2 had no instructions or decals/stickers...
FWIW, the all yellow Mustang flys rather well, and the wing looks a lot like the one on my WM Dago Red. I did a little repair on one retract mount after one of the cheap gears retracted itself on landing, and the structure looked about typical for an arf...
All in all, if it's built the same as the ones I've seen, it's o.k. but nuthin' special. Decent for the price though I guess.
SDB, give us a "review" when you get it, aye?!

Well the "Voodoo" arrived today. Looks good. Balsa built up fuselage, 65inch wing, retracts, Chrome spinner, Flaps and the covering is tight. For the life of me, I cannot find a brand name to this thing, even in the directions. Actually it looks much better upon arrival than most Arfs we do know the name of.
Usual hardware crap and fuel tank will go in the garbage and mofifications to the firewall and retract area will be made. At the moment I am impressed.

I thought I would update here. For one thing I want to tell those who bought this thing that "right thrust" is already built into the firewall.
The G2300 fits real good up front. Does not hang below the cowl line like a big fourstroke might.

Snoop - you have to be kidding me that you have a G2300 in that plane! I take it that you had to install a new mount. Let me know how she flies.

I just recently purchased a World Models ARF .46 Dago Red, and so far so good... its done three flights now, and i can say that the first two were both 1 in a million flights... it seems someone doesn't want this plane in the air lol first flight the brand new elevator servo died two turns after take off, thankfully it was stuck with about 5% up elevator enough to see it swoop around and somehow land perfectly... second flight with another new servo, get this... all four servo mount screws pulled completely out of the servo tray leaving the elevator servo floating... the only thing keep it in the air this time was that the servo sat snug in its mount and only had about 5-10% control in each direction... yet tho another perfect landing... flight three was different tho and it flew very well, im running a .52 in it and its almost too fast, it really hauls some serious speed straight line, so i think i am going to step down to an 0s46AX this weekend... the only thing i am a bit worried about is the vibration received through the fibreglass fuselage, and as a result i have had a few glitchs whislt flying and am looking at ways i can reduce the vibration. I am thinking atm of putting a piece of 1mm rubber between the engine mounts and firewall, and also under each servo mount also.
But as a whole its not to bad, landings are very easy and can be handled very slow if need be, and even on very low rates its still very responsive.

Heres a couple shots. I was originally wanting to install another Jett 90. Couldn't find a used one at a decent price. So I got a pad and wrote down many numbers from different engines. Many thing a G2300 is a hughe engine like the 3250 but its not. It is no bigger than most 120 fourstrokes and the weight is about the same or a bit less.
So at $150 for a NIB 2300 and $85 for a Jett Stream muffler, I came out pretty sweet. I beefed up the front end and retract area. I just rebuilt the fuel tank area. Since the engine is inverted , I am installing the Graupner 500cc (17oz)square tank. I gutted out the old mounting area and rebuilt so now it is about 1 inch lower than stock.
