I'm working on mine right now and I have a question for all of you guys:

Are you using the supplied control horns?

I 'm using rocket city on elevators but was thinking on the supplied alum for the ailerons but I'm not sure.

what do you guys think?

Bananas,

There will still be some nice flying days, and the planes perform better in the cold air.

Ref rpms on my fpe 2.4 i ran it yesterday and readusted the needles with the menz 19/10 standard like Jimmy says 6800 rpms i have the fixed ignition on mine i wish it had the sycrospark seems like the guys with the Brisons and fox 2.4 are getting way more rpms than with the fixed fpe ignition i will probally send it in to Kurt at fpe and get the up date done suppose to give about 400 more rpms theni could turn the 20'10 menz with authority. All summer i used the zinger 20/8 pro and it was ok but needed more pull for vertical .

Hello,

Just starting mine.

How many or you guys went with the removable stab verses the fixed version. I am having trouble deciding. I have never had a removable stab that did not have a tube in it.

Still waiting on my Taurus.

Thanks
Lenny.

On mine I used a thin bead of RTV silicone, it won't move but if it gets damaged it will come apart without destroying the back of the fuselage.

I am probably going to epoxy mine.

Do any of you guys running the Taurus or Brison motors know whether the side mount or the inverted Pitts muffler would work better on this plane. (noise is a non issue where I fly).

Thanks

Lenny

I would just use the side mount inverted if for a Taurus or Brison the wrap around costs around 100 bucks vs. 40 50 for a inverted down draft type.

Default Texas hurricane firewall problems?.

I bought my hurricane a month ago. What inspired me to buy it was watching Yuri Higugi at he Joe Nall flyin in May. He was torque rolling it at night time over the lake two feet from the water. Very impressive.

I finally put mine together and flew it this weekend. I'm using a brisson 2.4 what a great combo. This is one of the best 27% scale airplanes I have flown and I've flown them all.

There is one problem, the firewall pulled apart after the 3rd flight. I noticed it when I was going onto the 4th flight.

It did not look very strong when I assembled this kit, but I tried it anyway.

I'm thinking of drilling 3/16 dowel holes from the side frame to reinforce. Also I might put aluminum angle braces in the corner for added protection.

Any suggestions on how to reinforce the firewall, will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Luis
