I was wanting to upgrade my power panel on my field box. I have the old tower hobbies power panel. I wanted to know what was the best power panel to get. I have seen some that charge glow plug starters, but was wondering if there was one that also charged transmitter and airplane nicads also. What about with digital displays? Thanks in advance.

I have one of these and it rocks. Well worth the money. I have used every feature at least once.

Like Kmot says,
The Hobbico Quick Field Charger MKII.
I charges all of your batteries, including LiPo's, and has an adjustable charge rate.
It auto selects the number of cells.
Plus it allows you to charge two different battery types at the same timel
And you can't beat it for around $50.00.

I would consider getting rid of the whole thing. To me Power panels are dangerous with cords hanging out all over. I see guys getting stuff caught in the props all the time. I keep my stuff portable. Separate glow starter, Battery is strapped to the starter and the rest of it. Much more convenient.

I like to have things portable like Snoop. I use the lightweight PowerTork starter from Central Hobbies, nicad glow starter and keep only Hobbico Quick MKII field charger on hand with lightweight 1.2Ah 12v battery to boost my plane and transmitter batteries. Fuel pump is attached to fuel can to remain portable. This way, I take only what I need from plane to plane instead of dragging the whole field box around all day if things are all attached to the box. This works well for me since I fly several planes on a given day. I'm not the type that takes one plane and fly only 2-3 flights. In that scenario, you won't need any chargers.[:-]
