Flew my Ultra R/C katana for the first time the other day. It flies great, although the elevator is very, very snappy. Even with very low rates on, it tends to snap to the right. In fact, I almost lost the plane while pulling out of a spin because it snap rolled while pulling out of the dive.
The plane balances at the recommended CG, so I don't think its tail heavy.
The only thing I can think of is there is too much play in the elevator controls using the stock wooden dowl and Y wire. I thought of maybe somehow mounting two elevator servos in the rear of the fuse to do away with the stock elevator setup.
I am wondering if anyone has had experience with their Ultra Katana and would like to offer suggestions.

tail is inline with the wing. I checked the lateral balance and it is right side heavy. I guess I forgot to check that. That is the side that the plane snaps towards when using elevator. Is this the cause of my elevator problems?
The other area I thought might be contributing is in the stock wooden dowl and split Y wire elevator setup. I was never really impressed with those in any plane. When I grab the elevator halves and move them. I can shift the wooden dowl around inside the fuse without moving the servo. I am wondering if this is part of the problem, although every other plane I have owned with this type of elevator setup has also had this "play" in the wooden dowl.
Thanks. Steve
