Want to make my trainer into a taildragger. Any one out there have some pics of how they did the tailwheel? Im a brand new builder, but so far I feel that I have my main wheels mounted right. The tail looks like the tricky part.
thanks

you mean a piece of material at the tail that contacts the runway instead of a wheel? That doesnt sound very controlable?

I have an XE2 in my hangar as our club trainer. I think with the slanted rudder hinge line, it might be easiest just to run another pushrod from the rudder srevo to the tailwheel. You can put in a small piece of plywood to reinforce the mt. area, and run a goldenrod flexable plastic push-pull rod or something like that to make it steerable.
Run the pushrod out the bottom of the fuse. several inches ahead of the tailwheel, so it doesn't interfere with the elevator pushrod...
Just a thought, what do you think? That's probably the way I'd do it...
Did you put a good size piece of ply in the bottom of the fuselage to mount the main gear to?
Good luck...Tom

Sounds like you have an idea there proptop. I guess I dont understand one thing though. How do you attach two pushrods to one servo and get them to move in the same diretion. That is what you are saying to do right?
Are you saying to use a pushrod that has a fork in the end of it? Ill look at pics of this pushrod you are talking about. Guess Ill go to godenrods website?
I made the new mount for the main gear out of 1/4' ply, the same manner as what was origanally used.
