Hey guys! I just got the H9 80 inch cap yesterday and was wondering if anyone else had one and what they thought. I want to put a brison 3.2 for power. Any advice would be appreciated. The arf looks really good and I can't wait to get started on it.

There are a couple of threads on this bird already. Try doing a search. That being said...
I think the closest to completion is Ken Lambert (sp?).
Mine is still in the box while I dial in and fly my 120 size Cap.
Like yours this one is also very well built and covered. A few small wrinkles. Trial fit of the parts and all looks very straight.
I've looked closely at it to try and get some ideas of how to get away from dual elevator servos. Finally figured that out. Also I've figured a nicer way to mount the cowl.
Looks like you can get a little weight out of the front (maybe a couple of ounces), and an oz out of the wing joiner (or maybe replace it with a CF/Kevlar joiner
)
I've got a BME44 for mine already. Although the 3.2 may be a better choice for the 3D enthusiast.
As much futzing as I'm having to do with my 120 size Cap, I think this one is going to be a winter project.
That will also give me some time to really scrutinize it.
I'm also waiting on H9 to offer a coupon for CF gear and wheel pants
The "bang for the buck" is way low.
Had I not picked mine up for $425.00, I'd have bought the GP Wagstaff Extra, or GP Pitts. Or the DP Extra (that is a proven beauty of a flyer!).
Best of luck with yours,
Scott H.

I am following this thread to see others opinion. I had the wing on my H9 Edge 540 fold and the good folks at Horizon said I could choose a different plane if I like. Being that I have a swet running A&M 2.6 on the shelf I requested the 80" CAP.
Glad to hear your initial observations are positive when opening the box. My concern is that I had the same reaction when I opened the Edge box!
I don't understand the comment made about a certificate for CF gear and pants?
Hope more contribute to this thread as this size bird will pack alot of fun without having to haul a 35% size A/C around.
Was the wing one or two piece?
Later.

One piece wing. I have flown my edge for about 30 flights and have had no problems but I did remove the covering on the bottom and glue every thing. Hate to do that to a new plane but.... This cap looks great no wrinkles anywhere! And the parts fit pretty good too.

Sorry Bigben,
Didn't mean to confuse you.
In another thread I had mentioned that for the price, H9 should include CF landing gear and wheel pants. More tongue-in-cheek than anything.
If you look at the price of the competition, at $500.00 this bird is high. But it's cool
Well Ken,
You flying yet amigo???
I'm off to TOC. Look forward to hearing your flight stories when I get back.
