Hi all,
I just bought a H9 Pizazz this last weekend, second hand.
Prior to that I was reading several threads that said .46-50 engines were just not enough to 3D/hover well.
I bolted my GMS .47 to it APC 11.5x4...screwed in standard HS-425BB servos, and a standard 700mah pack. I haven't weighed it yet, but it's really not bad at all.
First flight, NO TRIM adjustments needed, slapped it into a hover just to see how well it really DID hover, spent 3/4 the tank hanging out on the prop between 1/2 and 3/4 throttle.
Now...I know I'm probably opening up a can a worms...but this thing IMHO is perfect with the GMS .47. PLENTY of power to tractor right out of any problems, amazing torque rolls, just an all out FUN plane to crank around RIGHT in front of you.
One recommendation though...toss the aluminum engine mounts, and put in some hardwood rails.
I do understand that many of us live at higher altitude, so I'm with ya'll on that for the extra power (used to live in Colorado).
So, keep it light, fly it right (it's not a speed demon), and have a ball!!
Is anyone else out there powering their Pizazz with a .46-47?
Just to contradict myself a bit...I am thinking about doing a H9 UltraStick 60 with an RCS 1.40. I just have to figure out if I can get the prop clearence for a 16 incher on that thing. hehehe...has anyone over powered their US60 with a 1.20 or something?
Life is full of adventures! High Flights all!!

I would not put a RCS140 on the US60. It is too heavy of an egnine. I have a US60 with a 91FX. It took six ounces on the tail too balance. It does nover at half throttle and goes straight up at full throttle. The 91FX will give you more power than you need!

I have an OS 70 4 stroke in the nose of my pizzaz and it has all the power it needs and will hover as long as there is fuel in the tank!!! I dont think it is over powered, it balanced with no weight.

I run mine with a Saito 65 and the thing was still tail heavy. I can hover all day long and only have one problem.. At high altitude I cant' tell up from down. ARG!!!
I finally pained the canopy black and found that it makes all the difference in the world.

I have a Pizzaz in the works, and plan on putting a YS63 on it. From what I'm reading, it should hover with out a problem.
Anyone have experience with this combo?

Im a fan of over powering. I have a Ustik 60 with an OS .91FS. Hovers at 3/4 throttle. Goes straight up out of a hover at full throttle.
ps instead of adding weight to the tail I built a hatch at the very back of the fuze for the battery pack.

Overpowering ? That's my favorite word.
I stuck an OS .91FX to the nose of mine with a 13x7 APC. Talk about vertical!
Surprisingly, it only took a few ounces in the tail to balance it out.
You'll love it!
Now if I can only find a way of mounting a YS 1.40........hmmmm.
Hey bodyman, wake up ? You dot.commin tonight ?
