Hi Jan,
I'm afraid it looks like your wing tube location in the fuselage was incorrectly jigged at the factory setting in at a slight angle across the fuzz. Mine fits perfectly.
I'd suggest you ask for a replacement fuselage. Hope you haven't put too much work in it yet.
You won't regret this choice of plane - they are superb fliers.

Hi Pete,
I called the dealer the other day and told him about the building flaw in my kit. He said this would be rather “normal allowance†in production and should neither harm the stability of the wing tube nor the flying performance. He however advised me to contact the importer Jamara which I didn’t. I was a bit tired of argueing with him.
In the end I loosened the outer tube from the fuselage, widened one of the holes in the fuselage a bit moved the tube a little backwards and the wing fit perfectly.
I will power mine with a Webra 120 with pump on a 16x8 apc prop. Let’s see how this turn’s out to be.

Hi Jan,
Glad you got your wing fit sorted. I certainly wouldn't call a 4mm gap normal allowance, but then I'm an engineer.
You're going to love this plane. Not sure if you've got enough engine though. Correct me if I'm wrong here chaps, but I think you really need a minimum of 1.60 to release the true potential of this plane.

Hi Pete,
I will give it a try with the 1.20 Webra. If not sufficient I can look for a OS 1.60 or MVVS 1.60. I think if I can keep the Giles' weight w/o fuel somewhere at 4900 grams the 120 should be fine for normal aerobatics. Definetely not enough for some 3D maneouvres, I agree.
Are you satisfied with the MVVS 1.60 methanol engine? It is quire cheap over here (160 EUR). I used to have the 0.60 and 0.91 MVVS engines and I had some problems to tune the carb to have the engine run reliably. So many deadsticks, but it became better when fully broken-in. Maybe my fault but when you are used to user friendly OS engines and carburettors MVVS can be a challenge.
Rgds Jan

Hi Jan,
I am very satisfied with my MVVS 1.60. It starts easily and has been totally reliable in 25 flights. I have had no problems with tuning. I don't think it has quite the power of the OS, (7300 with an 18x8 and Bisson pits silencer) but at half the price I'm not complaining. Of course this could be due to the fact that it runs on straight or 5% fuel too.

I was just at the LHS here in Germany and was told they had a few guys break the fiberglass wing tube and were offering aluminum ones to replace it with. Anyone heard this?

Hi AQA,
Welcome to the forum.
So how did the first flight go?
What prop are you using with your MVVS and what revs are you getting?

it is one large sheet with a very detailed drawing,if you study it carefully and ask a few questions here, you should be able to get through it,without much fuss.
