Hi gremlins2g!

I've had the Airborne (WM):

Extra 300 1.20
Zen 90
Rambler-45
T-34
Extra 300 .30

All of good quality. The Rambler-45 is a favorite of mine.

Default Airborne ARF Corsair

I just got my Corsair and so far I am very impressed with the model. It is very well built and has a beautiful finish.
I would buy another ARF from them.

Default Super Sports 40

Gremlin:
The SS40 is a great flying plane. I have seen about 6 to 8 of them at the field, and everyone loves them. Our local hobby shop has been selling these as a second aitplane. They fly great, land great, and are very aerobatic when set up with a little more throw. The funniest thing about them is the wheels are a loose fit on the axles, and are a bit hard, so when they land they sound like some one threw a metal trash can down the runway. . BTW, our club flies off a grass field, and it's a bit bumpy at times. A couple guys used the Dave Brown liteflite wheels to cure this problem. All in all, a great little airplane, and a good deal for the $.

HK in ct, thanks for the wheel info. we fly at a public park, early am and its supposed to be a grass field too, quite rough most of the time. i have always had to up the wheel size for clearance. gotta watch for those potholes, remember this is nyc we are talking about !

Default Q. for JBH: Rambler 45 vs. T34

Was wondering what the main differences are flying wise, between the Rambler 45 and the T34. I am trying to decided between them which would be better. Thankx for any info!

Hi Fastsky!

Once I flew the Rambler-45 I couldn't understand why anyone would buy a T-34. :-)

Here's my pros and cons on these two models:

World Models T-34 with OS-46fx
PROs:
Decent advanced trainer.
Impossible to bounce on landing.
Easy assembly.
Very easy to land.
CONs:
T-34 practicing, T-34 racing, and T-34 racers.

World Models Rambler-45 with Saito 72
PROs:
Really great Sunday Flyer.
Great looking.
Very docile and forgiving.
Very quick and easy assembly (I can build one in an evening).
Can be used to practice aerobatics.
Can hover with surprising ease.
CONs:
None.

The Rambler-45 is a much more attractive model... has built-in retracts which are fun... is alot more nimble in the air... and is more stable. The T-34 is a very stable plane, as well. But, the Rambler-45's light weight makes it even more stable.

The T-34 has only two purposes... it makes a decent trainer or advanced trainer... or it's a "go fast turn left" plane. The Rambler-45 wants to do some aerobatics. :-)

Plus there are so damn many T34s here at SCCMAS.

I like the looks of that Rambler plane but I only have a 4 channel radio right now so its retracts are a problem for me.

Heya Joe!

Hey Filip!

You found us! :-)

No problem with 4 channels... just fix the landing gear in place. :-)

And, it's "dern" Filip, "dern."

Default Rambler 45

WOW....I just recieved mine yesterday. Beautiful model. Excellent covering job. Does anyone know if this is ultracote? Seems like I heard it was somewhere. They said Oracover, which is the same stuff. Dont even have to cut covering off of horizontal and stab to epoxy to fuselage...already done. Nice! Pilot is nice too! Now I have to decide if I want to mount my Saito .56 inverted so I dont have to carve up that beautiful cowl. The retracts are awesome too. My first plane with retracts. I've owned nothing but GP,H9 and Sig before. They could take some lessons from WM's. The price is amazing too!!!!

Default Rambler-45 and other ramblings

Hi dan4466!

>>Beautiful model.<<
>>Excellent covering job.<<
>>The price is amazing too!!!!<<

I couldn't agree, more. This and the H9 33% Cap are the only ARFs I've given a "none" in the CONs column.

>>I've owned nothing but GP,H9 and Sig before.
<<

I've only seen the GP .40 size Extra and their 1.20 size Giles. Both looked awesome to me. But, I don't have much experience with GP and I've never built or owned one.

I think in the last year H9 has learned from all their successes and failures, as well as from the successes and failures of other manufacturers. H9's latest ARFs are amazing. Some of their older ones are not so hot.

I don't think SIG has figured out how to deal with the ARF market as of yet.

I have two AW ARFs coming this week and next... so I'll get to see how they are. And, I'd like to try out a Yellow soon, as well.

Default WM SS40

I have one with a Super Tigre G51 up front. It's a blast!! It goes together very quickly, is covered nicely with Ultracote, and flies great! At $99, I think it's the absolute best deal in R/C!

Default Can't go wrong with WM

Top notch quality ARF's! I have the Zero and Midget Mustang and love them both.
