Any one know for sure if the Robo struts for a 120 Version of the GP Ryan STA-M are the same Robo struts as the Ryan STA civilian version? Thanks. Brian Smith

Brian,
I used a set for three seasons on the STA. First flights used the stock gear but I found them to be bouncy and unable to take much side load. A new set of pants and the Robarts took care of all gear issues and kept the STA in perfect shape for the remainder of time I owned it.
They are a bit pricy but keep the pants and airframe from abuse.

Dick,
I am currently building (should I say...assembling) a Great Planes Ryan STA. I love the markings on yours. Where did you get them great decals? Thanks in advance.

Second that Dick T, those decals really stand-out, I am going to follow alfie's lead and drop you a line. BTW any thoughts on using RCV 120 for power? Thanks mikel-t

You would have to do some firewall work.
I ended up glassing the firewall coners, because my YS wanted to fly by it self, and allmost did. The firewall was loose after 20 flights. It is installed with hot-melt[X(] not epoxy.
I too had the robo struts, and never even tried the stock gear.

I think the RCV would be fine although I have no experience witht them.
My Ryan us powered by a great running Magnum (ASP) 1.08 with onboard glow. I mounted the engine about 15 degrees off inverted, made a 90 degree elbow and used the stock muffler. It all stayed within the cowl.
The 1.08 provided ample power for any type of flying. Interestingly the Ryan will knife edge better than a lot of 3D airplanes!
