The LHS I do business with here in OK had one (ARF) in stock last week, and they do mail order. PM me if you are still looking for one and I'll give you their info.

As far as engines go, the perfect match for this plane in my opinion is the Magnum .91. I've been flying mine with the .91 for about 6 months now, and it seems to be the perfect match. It's been rock solid reliable, and it didnt tax the pocketbook like the Saito's do. I'd put it up against any other .91 four stroke out there on this plane.

Personally, I can't wait to post some pics of my completed Four Star 60 - I have the engine mounted inverted, and put on a cowl made by Fiberglass Specialties.
Hi Mike,

I sure am looking forward to seeing those pics of your Four Star with the cowl on it! I am building a FS 60 myself right now and this would be a good time to make a decision about the cowl.

BTW, I have decided to install a GMS .74 into mine.

I hear repeatedly that the Tiger series is interchangable with the 4*'s, although I have not flown both, only the 4*'s. It might be worth the wait though just to be sure. They should be in stock soon....

What do you mean by "interchangeable"? I've got a Four Star 60, and a guy I fly with has a Tiger 60... I dont see anything about them that is interchangeable, they are two totally different airframes. They DO fly relatively the same, the Tiger doesnt float as much on landing.

I can tell you right now, the cowl was a good choice. It was a bit expensive, but I am glad I splurged! I should have have the plane pic ready by the end of this weekend (hopefully). I'll make a new thread.

The throttle linkage is factory set up for a two-stroke. Four strokes have their throttle arm on the on the opposite side as a two-stroke. Its a simple fix, though, and is carefully explained in the assembly instructions SIG includes with the model. Great engine choice Frankie
I have four strokes from OS, Magnum and Saito... all of them have the capability of rotating the carb to put the throttle arm on either side.

I'm not saying all FS carbs can be flipped; but if it can be it's a lot easier then redrilling the linkage holes.

Tiger 60 is an excellent choice and flys the same. Frankly it looks nicer too. Throw a G90 in it and you'll have plenty of extra power if you need it.

They are enough the same flying type of plane that the man could easily buy the Tiger since the 4* isn't available at the moment. Obviously the parts aren't directly interchangable or made by the same manufacturer. Sorry about the confusion.
