HI Got a 72" Dymond Ford Flivver and I need alieron servos. No directions but Dymond says use d200 servos. And a review, said the manual said, glue them in. So what wing servos did you use and how did you mount them ? I have a Hitec 225 but is too big. I don't want to hack up wing. The D200 are private brand mini servos I guess.

I used standard Hitec HS425BB servos. I didn't feel comfortable with anything smaller. 20 minutes with a dremel and the openings in the wing were big enough. I attached the servos to 1/8" plywood plates with hardwood blocks. They are not glued in. With a .91 four stroke for power I wanted the extra security of a standard size servo and the modification is a simple one. Let me know if I can provide additional info. It's a fun little airplane and you won't see many like it at your local field.

There is a chart with the dymond servo specs and dimensions here:
http://www.rc-dymond.com/Radio_Electronics/servo.htm
They sell the D200s for $20 each. The D200 size is very similar to the HS-81 or HS-85

Yes I,ve checked those servos out . But I also read a post from a guy putting in the dymond recommended servos and they stripped out in no time. The 225BB have 54 oz torque. They just don't fit the big shallow pocket for the servo..

Well GEE I take it you cut out the bottom of the shallow serv tray and mounted the servos deep and upright in the wings...

Well GEE Thanks for the quick reply and I like your servo hatch cover. I just didn't want to cut into wing and hit a main spar or weaken the wing. You would think to make such an odd ball recess there was a structural reason. Thanks again I will be open to other ideas too...

Mine is two years old and has many, many flights on it and it's been thoroughly wrung out
I'm confident this mod. causes no ill effects. Let me know what you do and how you like the airplane once you get a chance to fly it. What engine are you going to use?

Well I have real ford model T's ,so this is special to me. I hope it doesn't fly like a slowpoke. Engines Let see You can help
TH 75
OS 61 SF
Saito 65
Magnum 91 FS I was leaning toward saito 65 or OS 61 F Both a little heavy motors ,since It comes out tail heavy from what I've read... I know my SLOWPOKE took about 6 OZ up front.

Well KMOT DYMOND still sells them for 159.95 and 189.95 last I checked. Mine is red and silver. I think the blue and silver looks better. A plus for you is DYMOND is in California like you , but it could be hundreds of miles from you........

My slowpoke has a 50 SK and is not slooooow. But it is such a twitchy flyer. Does not like wind. The recommend Flivver 2 stroke is 61 so the OS SF long stroke should be plenty power. Your 91 is not over power?

Overpowered is such a subjective term
The .91 is plenty and I rarely fly at full throttle with it but it's nice to have the extra horses when I want them. It'll pull itself through outside loops as big as you want them and vertical is pretty much unlimited. I've never tried to hover it or anything like that. I just don't like adding ballast to an airplane in any form other than engine.
