Did the maiden plus two more flights on my new AT-6 today and it flew awesome.I have a saito 100 in it and it pulls it around very nice.I had to adjust the low end and thats about it.I can't wait to take it out this weekend and really ring it out.

Tailwheel, good job on your flight. I have one of these kits in the box with a saito 100. I'm going to start on it soon and I have a question for you on the landing gear. How did the stock gear hold up?
Thanks,
Dave

I've got this one also. Got the wing joined and the horizontal stab mounted, but havent finished it yet. I put it on the back burner to build a Goldberg Pitts 12, but it's definitely my next project. I'll probably go with a 4 stroke, does the 100 fly it pretty much scale, or is it overpowered?

davealv,
Do yourself a favor and replace the stock wires with the 3/16" wires from Robart. There was a GIANT thread on this a while back and the stock wires are just not good. I have this plane, did the wire conversion and it's great and easy to do. Also, don't forget to add epoxy to the firewall where it joins the fuse......another weak point.
Cheers,
Andy

Thanks Dave,
Andy said it all.I flew a friends with the stock gear and there a joke.I had a friend build it for me since i've been way to busy and i had him install the robart 3/16 wire gear.Just due a thread search and you'll find out all you need to know. The gear works great and the saito 100 is a good choice.Plenty of power and you can pull it back and fly by slow too.Good Luck.mike

Hey, a guy in my club has had several of the Hangar 9 warbirds with Saito 100's and they fly sweet. He always runs just the header, and they sound awesome! Anybody else doing this? Devin

Hi rcandy, I am building the plane and am stalled with the tank installation. Have a TT 91 mounted 45 degrees down to the right and this puts the tank way above the carb. Read a thread where it shows a lowering of the tank about i
1 inch but if I do that the outlet hole runs into the blind nut. Can you tell me of a better way to lower the tank?

KB1EJ,
I am running an OS 91FSII in my AT6 at the stock 45 degree position and the tank in the
stock position and have had absolutely no problems. I have no idea why people fool around
with what is intended.........and I am not criticizing........but if it works........don't fix it!!
I am also mounting a SuperTigre G75 in my H9 P47 the exact same way and I expect no problems.
One of my flying buddies has an H9 P51 with a Saito 100 mounted in a stock position and the fuel
tank in the stock position and he is having no problems either.
Cheers,
Andy
