Default Phoenix Decathlon

Please help. Has anyone put an OS 46 LA in one of these planes? Also, has anyone figured out the exact CG and control throws? I'm also considering a Magnum 70, but it doesn't fit in the stock engine mount. If anybody has put one of these engines in, could you tell me how you did it?

Thanks,
Bob

I have a 46AX on mine and it is a great plane to fly. The Magnum 70 would be a great choice as well, but the 46LA would be nominal at best for this plane, I think. The Magnum would also have the better sound and more power in the vertical. Get a bigger mount and try the 70 on it and let us know how it goes

CG=100mm

Ailerons = max throw
Rudder = max throw without hitting the elevator
Elevator = not exactly sure what I have here, looks like 1"- 1-1/4"

Just finished one of these with a .91 Magnum four stroke. Pictures of the modifications to help on your .70 four stroke installation.

1. Mounted elevator and rudder servos in the tail with the battery just forward of them.
2. Blocked off holes in cowl adjacent to the spinner, opened the lower hole and installed stall strip to enhance airflow over inverted engine head area.
