They are back in stock!!! I bought one as a subsitute to the Thunder Tiger Rare Bear. I have wanted a Rare Bear model for awhile for obvious reasons(not that one sorry). I plan to clip the wing down to about a 52 inch span recover/paint it and use logos borrowed from a TT RB. I have read the post about the small stab issues, but does anyone else have any other input. Someone was doing this model with a .91 in it and would like to hear how that went.

I have one of the blue Dymond Bearcats. I dont fly it anymore do to its a little beat up and not looking good.
I had a .61FX with a pitts muffler in it and it was just the right amount of power for it.
I would not go with a .91 2 stroke, it would be a little too much for this plane.
Yes, make sure you reinforce the stab. real good(poss. sheet it) be fore you recover it. Me and other Dymond Bearcat owners had big problems with futtering and breaking. Also try to reinforce the area inside the fuse where the stab. goes threw(add more wood for supporting the stab.).
I would NOT cut this wing down anymore, its only 53",and i wish it was like 56", it needs it.
I like this little Bearcat, it flys great and looks good. You dont see many Bearcats out there.
The only things I hate about it was, the stab problems and the wing stall(plane stalls fast at slow speeds).
Enjoy!!

I'm building this for a warbird pylon series. I have sheeted the stab and only took the wing down to 48". As for the tip stalling I have a few rigging tricks to help with that. I have been flying a KMP Critical Mass for a year now and that thing lands like a lead brck if you don't keep your speed up. Come to think of it every thing I have has a pretty high wing loading. I want to try an RCV .91 4 stroke because that's what the rules allow me to have, and contain the engine inside the cowl.

Rare Bear Mech, Looks awsome! Have you flown it with the RCV91CD yet? I have one of these and would like to use it in this plane. I am completely BARFing this one, as there are some things I don't like, mainly the horizontal stab and the purple-ish paint. The stab will be completely rebuilt from scratch. It will also get stripped, glassed and repainted (I am thinking target tow scheme).
I would love to see a good F8F kit with a 65-70" wing.......
