Default h9 p-51

Bolted a YS .91 supercharged on the nose of this one. Used tons of extra epoxy on the firewall. Getting 8700 to 9000 rpms with a master airscrew 16x6. Thrust calculator says 16 lbs. of static thrust. Has anyone tried this combo in the air yet?

Yes, I too have a H9 P-51d. I have a YS-91FZ and m running an APC 13x8. It flies like a dream. Still breaking in engine, so I have no good tach readings for you. I replaced the stock wire gear with "Spring-Air" 704 retracts and "Lyte-Flyte" oleo struts. The entire air system is mounted on wing, very clean install. No unplugging of air system to remove wing, just unplug the servo wires. It weighs in at 8.4 pnds.

Where do you find the Lyte Flyte struts?

A buddy of mine has one. He and I do some formation flying and take offs. A little tricky, but we're safe. He's on the sticks of the P51 and I'm on the AT-6.

Well,
as of last night...I too am a proud owner of a slightly used h9 p-51 w/Saito 100 on the nose (got a super deal on it) and boy is my wife p****d off...but its worth all the trouble I'm in...

With a little luck I will fly it this weekend (if I can wait that long)...

I too have this combo, brnd new Saito 100. Had to replace the restacts too, haha. Hangar 9 has a problem with the P-51 series, they make a great, beautiful aircraft. Then they slap these stupid chinese, plastic retracts in. On the 1.50 they're even worse! Anyway, i replaced them with a set of Robart mech. for the .60, and for the 1.50, the Robart pneumatics! Anyone else use this great combo?

forgot, anyone got any videos of this great bird??

I too have the YS 91 in mine. i went from my usual 14x8 APC to a 13.5x9 APC and the speed jumped up remarkably.
