Giant U Can Do (Cowling question)
#1
Got a stupid question. I've got the giant UCanDo and the engine is mounted inverted with a nice cowling to cover it. I notice on all the pictures they show a nice opening for the muffler to come out and no holes on the other side except the needle adjustment. How can you put the muffler on without a couple of holes on the other side of the cowl to get your allen key into to tighten the bolts. I'm using the standard muffler with the OS 160. Must be a accessory (there always is in this hobby) that I need to make this work. Thanks, Jerry.

Ok, I've been scratching my head for two nights trying to figure out what handy dandy accessory I was missing. Thanks for your reply.

It's actually not a stupid question. I'm not finished my Giant U-Can-Do yet, but I mounted the my O.S. 160 with the standard muffler last week. My engine and muffler came with an adapter. The adapter bolts on at the engine exhaust flange then the muffler bolts on to the adapter, all from the muffler side. I will remove the cowl tomorrow and send some better photos of the engine, adapter, and muffler. I did however have to cut one of my Allen wrenches down to clear between the adapter and muffler.

If you are under 1000 feet elevation I think the 160 will hover this plane. I'm at 4800' elevation and I was disappointed in the 3D performance of the plane. I loved the way it flew but could not get enough power to suit me. Mine would barely, BARELY hover at my elevation.I've since removed the engine and am working on other projects. I'm not sure what engine I'm going to put in it. Maybe a DA50 I have. But for now it's sitting on the floor, engineless.
Thanks
