Wild Stik 120
i just one a free wild stik 120 from carlgoldbergproducts.com and i wanted to no what a good cheap engine and radio would be for it. It takes a .91 engine 2 or 4 stroke and a 4 channel radio with 8 servos. I want to keep it relatively cheap but i want it to work also. any help is appreciated thanks.

The .91 is on the low end of both the 2 & 4 stroke eingines and may not give you what your looking for. If it were my kit, I'd put a Saito 1.80 on it or a 25cc to 35cc gasser.

RE: Wild Stik 120
I agree with RV. I would look at a bit heavier duty servos than standard also because It's a pretty big plane with large control surfaces. It's very similar to my Big Boy and it has four servos on the ailerons. I use HS 475s on mine with HS 635s on the elevators and a Hs 645MG on the rudder.

Pconn:
Your profile says you are a beginner. The Wild Stick is definately NOT a beginner's airplane. It's going to cost you at least $350 to $400 to set that airplane up and then you are almost certain to crash it.
The best advice is to sell it NIB in the Market section here at RCU and use the money to buy something cheaper and more suitable.
Jim
EDIT: I forgot that you will need a radio also. The $350 - $400 above only includes the servos. You are going to need a 7-8 channel computer radio. Minimum $250 more.

RE: Wild Stik 120
Where could i find the 2300 ST and how much is it? I have some experience flying rc planes just not nitro planes. I have a quite large plane but it flys very slow. If anyone has tips on learning to fly a plane like this any help is appreciated.

To learn to fly that airplane, you will have to 1) Join a club, 2) Join the AMA (for the insurance) 3) Find one of the club instructors who is willing to teach you on that airplane (good luck with that).
It would be possible to set the Wild Stik up like a trainer and fly it with a four channel radio, but you can buy a real trainer for about half the money you're going to spend setting the Stik up and with an instructor, you probably won't crash the trainer.
Oh yeah, the ST 2300 is available at www.towerhobbies.com

Check out the Tower Trainer RTF and NexSTAR series at the Tower link above. Also take a look at the Hanger 9 P-51 Mustang PTS and P-51 Mustang PTS ARF at www.horizonhobby.com The "Select", "RTF"and "PTS" versions include engine and radio and are ready to fly. The "ARF" versions require you to buy and install the engine and radio.
You should be able to sell that Wild Stik for about $150.

RE: Wild Stik 120
Hi Pconn5, You could always lay the 120 wild stick back and buy a trainer. One day you might want to go up to that size plane. It wont cost you anything in storage. A good cheap trainer is tower hobbies 40 size with engine, Radio, and plane for under $250.00 Join a club and see what the members use to train new pilots. hope this helps Wayne M.

RE: Wild Stik 120
i was just givin a wild stick 120 with a super tiger g2300 on it and it flies very well don't skimp on the servos you'll regret it. by the way i've flown many times with a basic four channel radio with the flaps tied in as ailerons using three y connectors and other than a fast roll rate it's been a blast!
