Default Recover a RTF??

I like a lot of the ARF and RTF planes but I do not like the colors. I know build your own, but I do not have the time now. Anyway has anybody ever recovered a RTF plane. The only problem(s) I see is when recovering the hinge areas.
thanks

I'm with you, most of the ARF color schemes are not to my taste. I do one or two ARFs a year where I strip the stock covering and re-cover. This gives an opportunity to get a good look at the glue joints, which I'll say are getting better. I also like to do my own elevator linkage, which involves cutting into the bottom of the tail.

There's no reason you can't recover them. If it's an ARF, just re-cover before the surfaces are hinged.

One other point... Look for an ARF that is covered with Ultracote, just add heat and it will peel off easily.
