Looking for a CHEAP plane for SuperTigre 40
I finally dumb thumbed my Contender 40 that was 10 years old (inverted tail drag that got too low). My Super Tigre 40 flew it beautifully and the engine still runs like a top so I'd like to find a new plane for it. I'm looking for a cheap knock around plane for this engine. Any recomendations? Prefer aerobatic capabilities similar to a Contender.

World Models Sky Raider Mach II. $70 ARF, great flyer, great match up for your engine. Instructions are poor, but if you have put together a few planes, it's not hard to figure out.
Enjoy!

I am sure that the engine would haul around a World Models Super Sports pretty good. I have a 46 on mine and its a rocket at throttle but cn be slowed down to reasonable level to land. [8D]

Thanks for the recommendation on the World models planes. That skyraiderII looks perfect. Can't beleive they're that cheap. They're ugly, but cheap. I'm gonna see if the LHS has them in stock.

I just ordered one from airborne models. they have them in all colors in stock. Total with shipping came to $79.99. I just picked up some servos tonight for it. Are standard hitec 322 Karbonite servos adequate for this model? I would think they would be, but I'm curious.

I had the MACH II with a ST 40 and it hauled the mail . I didn't see a need for a 46. The fuel tank is very low in the skyraider so tune the ST 40 with a 1/2 tank full. The Tigre turned a 3 blade 9x6 MAS at about 12,000 rpm ,it was a good match. Tree gods took the Mach II from me.

Yeah I just flew about 10 flights with the ST40 and did what you said. Tuned it at about mid tank. It's workable. Fun plane.
