League Extra 330L 28% with CRRC GF45i Motor
Does anyone have one of these planes. I just bought one yesterday. The quality looks great. I also got a CRRC GF45i motor with it ehich seems really neat. If anyone has any video or pictures, please share the love . Or just let me know how the plane flies with this motor.
Thanks Guys

Hi sal
I don’t know to much about the plane it self but I can tell you the engine did give me heaps of grief .I’ve had the engine for over 6 months now and have only just got it running sweet. The first problem was the tuning of the motor which was fixed by getting the new carbie mount then the muffler kept on breaking so I had to get the new type with the brace tap on it. Next the main bearing was found spinning in the casing so with new bearings and some loctite that problem was fixed. The last thing that went wrong was I had to get a new ignition. At the moment the engine is running sweet so I’m not going to mess with it anymore. The motor is in a hanger 9 extra 260 which is about the same size as your plane and you can see a video of it flying http://www.gam.asn.au/Movies.htm just click on Marks Extra 260. Please keep me informed about your plane to as I’m thinking of getting one. I hope you have none of these problems when yo get to fly. when did you buy the motor? Apparently, there are 2 versions of it, one with a plastic intake, and one with metal. Many people have said that the motor is pretty good. When did you buy it?
Thanks mark.
Love the extra 260..

I’ve had the motor for over six months now. It came with the plastic carbie intake but I now have the metal one which makes it run a lot smoother. I’m glad you liked the extra I’m looking forward to see your plane fly.

I'm going to start building it on the weekend.SO hopefully, all goes well....have you welded the tab on your exhaust volume chamber to stop possible cracks?

I had the plane/engine combo. The airframe I was not happy with as almost all the glue joints failed when flexed slightly. I gave it away.
The muffler WILL crack if you don't brace it. See the longgggg posts on the GP Extra 1.60. I posted pictures and fixes for this engine. It runs OK after repairing the muffler and bracing it, replacing bearings and Loctiteing (sic) them in as the bearings would float in the crank-case, replacing the ignition TWICE until eventually I replaced it with a CH unit. The cheap engine now has cost me more than a Brison 3.2 including muffler.[] It runs well and is a good combo for the Ultimate, pity that it is NOT an inexpensive way to get into gas.
My other gassers are:
1 x BME 102
2 x Brison 6.4
1 x Brison 4.2
1 x Brison 3.2
1 X 3W100B2
1 x 3W106TOC
2 x Zenoah GT80
2 x Zenoah G62
2 x ZDZ40RVL
1 x ZDZ80B2
IMHO, if anyone wants to get into gas, get a Zenoah or Brison. These are affordable, reliable and easy to use.
Safe Flying!

Hi mark 10,
I thing I have also ignition problems and can't get the engine over 6400 rpm with a 20*10 prop. What ignition did you mount or did you just change it by an original under warranty?

for your consideration I would suggest the new 3mm 53cc engine, it has recieved great reviews and the price for value is almost impossible to beat. A few ounces heavier thana DA with about the same powe from what I have read.
price includes ign and muffler!

cant speak for the airplane but if you have it, reglue things, reinforce joints and throw a decent motor on there and have fun!
