Anyone out there familiar with the Kangke ARF products? I have a G-38 that I would like to put on the Texas Twister. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated....

I have their Cap 232 60 size with an OS 91fx. I had to change a few things but I would buy another kangke airplane in the future. Mine is lite and straight. The covering job was average. The cowl color did not match the covering. Wheel pants were plastic. Control horns and other acces were unuseable for me. The landing gear is/was weak. A little extra work and money made a nice Sunday flyer ( as of now it is a hanger Queen, never flown).

Jbflier, I think you mean the Texas Hurricane!!
I have the Kangke Cap232, and agree with mode1, I had to make several changes, like painting the cowl, using aftermarket control horns, and wheel axles, no big deal. I have a Saito 100 in mine, and it flies beautifully, mine is definetly not a hangar queen. I think Kangke is excellent quality, I just recently bought the Kangke G300, and in the process of putting it together. Like the Cap, it is a excellent kit, and will probably have to do similar mods, with the exception of painting the cowl, this one matches.Dazzler

I have the Kangke 60 size Cap 232 and love it. Powered with a OS 1.08 performance is unlimited. I agree with the guys above. Hardware was pretty bad and my cowl paint was off but not too bad. Mine came out strong and light. I will buy another Kangke.

I don't know if it is the work we did to it or the work Kangke did to it... but this is one of the best planes I've flown:

Thanks for the response guys. I originally bought a G-38 for my Sig Sukhoi, then realized that the G-45 would be better. (and it is!!) Now I need to find a home for the G-38, and the Hurricane, ( Thanks), looks like a winner.

I have the hurricane with a Brison 2.4 and I can assure you the performance is outstanding. The airframe is as well built as any I have ever seen, all the hardware {4-40} supplied was very good with the exception of the tail wheel assembly {I just didn't like the way it looked} and I didn't like the wire supplied for the rudder pull-pull. With a Zinger 20/8 pro prop it will hover at 2/3 throttle and accelerate verticly with authority. It tracks like its on rails and can fly so slow it seems to defy gravity. I give it a 9+ for quality.

It sure is nice to read a good reveiw for a change...it sometimes seems as though all the ARF reveiws in up being a warning about such poor workmanship. I am looing at the Texas Hurricane for an old BME 3.5 I have that is on it's way to Waco to be fixed and I was not really wanting to design and build anything right now so this really is good news...thanks OUTCAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dazzler is right, Texas Hurricane LOL!
I have the Cap 232 with the TS 91 in it and I fly the heck out of it. Must have 10 gallons through it now and it only has a little scrape on the wingtip. I work it hard and has held up good. I'm impressed with the quality, and someone else said it, Light and straight.
I drool over the TH in the hobbie shop every time I go in. right now it's a pipe dream, but in the future... FWIW it was designed for the Brison and from what I seen at the field I can't disagree. I'd sell the G-35 on E-bay and grab up a brison.

I'll find something for this G-38 of mine. It has to be an ARF though, because I'm highly allergic to CA glues. (Even some epoxies bother me.) I'm new to the gas engines, and mainly sport fly, so the clunky old Zenoah's will have to do for now. I see World Models is coming out with a new Extra 300 that looks really fine. We'll see. It looks like the general consensus is that the Kangke products are good enough for me... I thank you all for your comments.

jbflier, the G38 is a 2.3ci engine, and while it is not quite as powerfull as the Brison 2.4 should make a wonderfull combination for either the Kangke Hurricane or thier new 120 size Cap232. They both have large interiors making it easy to move rc gear around for balance. Lots of control surface and light strong construction. Both planes are very docile in flight when set up conservitivly but when you step on the throws and move the cg the only limiting factor will be your skill. If your G38 runs good go ahead and use it, you'll have a blast.

Thanks Outcast; I'm going to keep the G-39 for now, as it's brand new. I think the Kangke Hurricane will be the plane for it and my kind of flying. I also have my eye on the new Extra 300 that World Models is coming out with. I've had a few of their kits, and find them to be a decent product.
