i glued my stab and fin in addition to the screws no reason to take a plane this small apart as as useing the evo 100 i say go for it sounds like a good combo

Balancing may be a problem with the evo 100. Mine came out pretty nose heavy with the Saito 125. It is in the middle of the CG with the bat and rx under the turtle deck.

Go vertical, The evo 100 wieghs 8 oz. more than your Saito 100 and 4 oz. more than my 125 and mine is balanced in the middle of the CG with the bat back as far as you can put it. You can only move the bat back so far. Without adding tail wieght the plane would never balance for 3D type flying.

wow you are right i didn't realise the evo 100 was that heavey

i still think it would work well it's only 3 oz liter than a saito 180:::::::::

you are all correct ,its a balance issue.with the plane on the scale and the scale set to 165mm the battery has to go in the fuse just in front of the horizontal stab.that was a 4.8 nicad so i went and bought a 6 volt battery but it still has to go in the fuse a few inches in front of the stab.i opened that sucker up and slapped it in there,it went in easy and i stitched her up nicely.i have hitec 645s all around, big battery, big engine, heavier rods, its one heavy bird,i hope she flys light.tomorrow will be the test.any thoughts on prop sizes for the evo 100?oh by the way GO VERTICAL i did that mix i asked you about on my harrier 46, it works not very pretty though but that just might be the plane or my thumbs(probably my thumbs)i hold her in a hover and can get her to flip all the way around with out losing altitude but she rolls out of the maneuver.

the harrier has a longer tail moment than the twist maybe that has something to do with it keep working on it let the fun roll on

Glueing the stabilizer did the trick with the looseness.

Thanks

I purchased the Twist 60 2 weeks ago and out of the box the covering looked almost perfect, but a few days later a lot of wrinkles developed all over the plane and no matter how much I shrink or re-shrink them using my iron and heat gun they keep reappearing. Is anyone having the same problem?

Mine wrinkled up a few days after I built it. I took the heat gun to it and it has looked great ever since.

They fly very much alike. The 60 does show it's wieght a little more than the 40. Both are still floaters though.

This is a painful report.i maiden the 60 today with fair winds, the plane was balanced at the rear most recommended cg(165mm),100 evo hasn't been run since i pulled it out of my funtana 90 about a year ago and it was quiting on me while i had the plane on the ground.i changed plugs, tuned her up and and took off.take off seemed fine but when i slowed her down in the air she nosed up on me,extremely tail heavy, but controllable,i flew for about 7 minutes to see how she handled and decided to land.on approach she floated past my landing spot and nosed up almost vertical so i decided to go around again and throttled up and started to climb to about 25 feet, and then the engine quit.i didn't panic, i let her start to dive and tried to level off but it pancaked.the crash took out the engine, firewall, gear, and right side of fuse back to the leading edge of the wing.I'm not sure but i bet if i had her balanced at the forward most cg i could have pulled that dead stick off and landed with little or no damage at all.this is just another lessen for myself to never maiden a plane with the cg toward the rear.i almost through my 9 channel into the ground but the price jumped in my head so i through my sun glasses instead.i don't know if ill repair it,at 130.00 is it worth it?it might be easier to buy another and have spare parts.having said all that,i was not impressed with the evo power, vertical was ok but nothing impressive.maybe the 14x4 is not enough prop.anyway whether i rebuild or get a new one ill try again.

Well that makes two of us lol.....flew mine tonight...the field is full of imac pilots ready for sat and sunday event........ I had not flow since replacing the servo's and prop and moving the c.g, I had charged it though....so......started it up checked range etc checked control movement the rudder was wrong direction so were the ailerons...or so i thought!!!!!!! so corrected them both ...called "taking off" three feet roll out vertical wow the prop (15X4) big difference.....then went to bank to the left guess what it went right ....now bearing in mind there are six people flying from 30-45% models out too, tried not to panic reached for the radio to try and reverse the servo's mmmm no good too much going on, rolled the wrong way then back not enough of a gap between plane and ground and well we all know the rest. So i have just finished gluing it back together.took out the gear plate and a clean break at the back of the canopy....a few carefully placed stickers and wait for the canopy to dry and we will try again....this time with the correct aileron orintation!!!! if you squint enough it's hard to se the join lol...laterz, Colin.

Sorry about your loss Jawbuy. I have my Twist balanced at the forward end of cg range but I notice it has a tendency to climb when I throttle down. Could it be too much (built-in) downthrust? I don't know for sure yet but I'm going to decrease my engine downthrust and see what happens.

GO VERTICAL
the fuse alone is 70.00 plus shipping and thats worth buying a completely new one.first i got to figure out that evo and get it running perfect before i try again.
PLANECLOTHES
let me know if changing the thrust angle helps or if its just a balance issue.

all the 3d planes that i have had have had the balloning if you come off of full throttle if you have the CG set for 3d it is one of the nature of the beast, the wings are so thick that they cause the nose to pich

yes for that price a new kit would be the best choice

That might explain it, go vertical but I never had that happen with my UCD 3D 60, which as a matter of fact had the cg set behind what the manual recommended.
