I wish the kid at the hobby shop would have warned me about the instructions on this arf I bought. They were the worst I've ever seen. I bought a Vmar Extra 300L. Steps were out of sequence and many steps were just left out completely. Parts didn't match the parts in the instructions, they contradicted themselves...
Luckily I figured out most of the assembly on my own except the installation of the wheel pants. Anyone have any words of wisdom?
Thanks

I just Installed wheel pants on my cap 232.
the installation is not explained in the instructions.
My way (and i am sure there are much better ways) were to drill axel size holes in each side of the pant after locating the desired position of the wheel. Bright light behind so you can see where the axel touches the pant. I then spread the pant open enough to tighten the wheel collar. I then positioned the plane on a table and orenited the profile of the pant with the aircraft.
I used a 1/16th bit and drilled through the fiber glass landing gear 1/2" above the axel on the center of the strut. Then used a short wood screw to keep the pant from moving.
My way. I hope you get better advice.
Robert
P.S. Please let me know of the improved method.

My Feedback: (51)
Vmar=[:'(] I haved owned a Vmar, and needless to say they never got another penny of mine since that first purchase. Some of the Vmar Planes do fly pretty good though if you can keep one together. I would not even take another one as a free gift though. Just not worth my time to try to make chicken salad out of chicken crap.
