Hello:
I recently finished a Nanlong CAP 232 .46 size, and mounted a new OS FS70II Surpass engine on it. The plane has a wing span of 55", and the weight came in at just under 7 lbs. This plane is recommended for a .46 2C , or .52 4C. Does anyone know what kind of results I can expect with this combo? The prop is a 12X6. Also, OS recommends that the break-in prop is a 11X9. Can I use the 12X6 for the break-in? Radio system is a Futaba 7CAP. The weight was 6 1/2 lbs, not 7. Sorry.
Thanks!

Hi,
I had a Kyosho CAP 232 with an OS 70 surpass and it flew great. Not sure how experienced you are, but as it has a tapered wing, you'll need to keep your airspeed up a bit, but dont get too panicky.
Try and do a reasonable take off run to let her gain speed, rather than yanking off the deck too soon, and then take her up high and slow down to find the stall.
I flew with APC 12x8 and 13x6, the 12x6 will be fine for the break-in.
The motor should pull just fine, much better than a 52 4st.
Enjoy!
Wes

Thanks Wes. I have been flying for about 20 years, and have flown different Caps, but not with this set-up. I am also mixing flaperons so that I can slow it down on the approach.

I have the World Models CAP 232R with a O.S FS70 surpass and it is awesome, loads of power to haul it vertical straight out of take off, i dont do 3d (or rather cant) but anything else it will do knife edge, khife edge loops lovely flat spins. mine swings a 12X7 master airscrew. my WM plane lands real easy and slow with no bad tendencies at all.....out of all my planes it is my favorite, with this combo you will have fun.....
