I just broke in a Super Tigre .61 on my new Venus .40 and the control rods in the tail have an extreme rattle about half throttle. It is loud and annoying! Anyone have an idea to stop this?

Get rid of the heavy engine. If you want to use a .61 try a K&B twist head. Else a Webre .51 or other 50 sized. Or if you must use it then put some rubber between it and the mount and between the mount and the firewall.

Any thoughts about the Cermark Javelin? It has pull-pull rudder. It is built very nice.

rc pilot...

Central Hobbies has great pattern planes. The are the world's leader in that area. But...be prepared to spend a lot of money.

Thanks

Nope, the Icepoint is no longer available, unfortunately. Apparently it is being replaced by the Evolution. There was a thread in the pattern forum on it recently. Here's the [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4520605/tm.htm]link.[/link]

GP Venus 40 or Venus II.

The World Models Zen 120.

-----------

I just bought the Venus II. I'm trying to decide if I should use a YS 1.10 or a YS 1.40 Sport. The 1.40 weighs the same as the OS 1.20 that is recommended. But the YS 1.10 is stronger than the OS 1.20 that is recommended. Decisions, decisions...<G>

My friend if you what to break into pattern type flying get yourself a GP Venus II. I have been flying one for 3 months and for the price they can't be beat. I have a Typhoon 2 meter ship which flys a bit better but costs 3 times as much and is more hassles. A Venus II & an OS 120 4 stroke, a Saito 125 or a YS 110, that's the ticket.

To start with, there is no perfect plane out there. Someone will not like certain particulars about every plane. The key is to find one that suits your taste.

My tastebuds like my Excelleron 90. I am in the process of changing out the ys110 for a ys140 to increase the flight envelope.

HI,

I recommend the Excelleron 90 with an OS120.. I fly sportsman and have two excelleron 90s with OS120's it is a perfect match,
the OS120 has all the power and economy, plus the OS120 is an excellent engine to set up.... 1 tank and your off and running.

Cost wise the Excelleron 90 is inexpensive, and the only thing you need to swap out of it the hinges (go with Great plane pin hinges) and
the landing gear to get better clearance for the prop.

it flys excellent, and is easy to maintain.

Pls note I had YS110 in my excelleron 90 but due to idling problems I went with the OS120 and was very happy with it.

Make sure you balance the plane and it will fly anything you want.
