Info on Phoenix Sukhoi
I'm thinking about a Phoenix Sukhoi and have a few questions.
Does Phoenix have a website? Google doesn't find a home page for them.
Who distributes them? I like to buy at my local hobby shop rather than mail order. They carry Hobbico and Horizon, but not much else. Can they get Phoenix easily?
Lastly I'll take any impressions about Phoenix and the Sukhoi in particular. I read a lot about pretty good quality and the prices are crazy.
Thanks for any help you can offer!

Do a search on the forums. There has been a fair amount previously on the airplane. One discussion was about the lead weight that Phoenix stuck into the fuselage.
It's a decent flying airplane, but if you don't notice the weight it might come out heavier than it needed to be.
Mine came with a poorly made cowling. It wasn't close to round. Had some creases in it. But look up the previous discussions. Nobody who had one faulted the flying if I remember correctly.

I agree with Darok re the cowl. Mine was also noticably out of true round at the front inside circumference. Cowl isn't in the same quality class as a typical CMPro or TWM units, but is robust and with a little work can be cleaned up to look good nevertheless. Overall, a nice looking model which flies well as long as you bring it out no heavier than spec weight.

BTW, it is a good idea to read what's already been written.
The instructions have a couple of trouble spots that're worth knowing about going in. And are too complicated to describe again.
And there is a deal with locating the motor mount that's a problem and has been covered with pictures etc. Some of the kits have mistakes in them from the factory that'll lead the unwary to placing the motor/motor mount poorly.

Thanks for the info. I searched for "reviews" but not in the forums. You're right, there are tons of threads about it.
Anyone know if Tower ever offers them on sale for $80 or $99 like they used to years ago? Geez that's cheap!!!!!
