Default H-9 1/3 CAP Hardware?

Chief sells a hardware package for the H-9 1/3 CAP for $149 (wheels, tanks, titanium links, etc.,). Would you recommend this package or buying items separately on mw own?

I was ready to preorder the plane but wasn't sure about the hardware.

Default Hardware

If you are using the Futaba or Jr servos Yes. Its a good deal. Hitec high end servos come w/arms. The kit you speak of has only futaba or jr arms. I am using the hitec digital servos and I didn't purchase the kit. I still need to purchase turnbuckles and that will put me well over $149. in hardware. The hardware kit looks like the way to go no matter which servo used on this plane.
C.G. is not correct in the instructions. Look on previous threads regarding the plane there are plenty with lots of necessary information and techniques on building this plane.

Chief also sells the hardware for Hitec, just ask for it. I purchased mine seperate and didn't save anything. If I were to do over I'd buy the kit............
Love my Cap............

Default H-9 1/3 CAP Hardware?

Just curious, what's the minimum torque you would run on control surface servos of the 1/3 CAP?

Also, are you guys typically running dual receivers?

I have never had 1/3 scale, just 1/4, and never had gas. Looking at a ZDZ80.

Thanks!

Default H-9 1/3 CAP Hardware?

I found that the elevator arms needed to be 1.25", not 1". It made it a lot easier to set up with the programmer (Hitec 5945's all round).

I made my own CF control rods with CF tube and 4-40 all-thread as I always do. Light, strong and it don't break the bank.

Rocket city stuff is cheaper if you get it from Aeroprotect Corp.

I prefer to get the stuff myself, and not buy a package. There is always something I don't like in the package and end up tossing it away. Wasted $$$.

What I used was:

Servos: HItec 5945 digital (4 Ail, 2 Ele, 2 Rdr) + Hitec 425BB (Throttle)
Servo Arms : AirWild (1" on Ail(4) 1.25" on Ele(2) 1.25" on Rdr(2)). Hitec 3/4" on Throttle.
Control horns: Rocket City RCL69D except Rdr - RCL70.
Rods: CF & 4-40 all thread.
Tank: DuBro 32oz. Aerotrend fuel tubing and a Tetra fuel dot.
Pilot: Life-like 33%.
Spinner: TruTurn with lightened backplate.
Prop: Mejzlik 27x10 (not for 3D, for IMAC practice).
Switches: JR heavy duty charge switches.
Batteries: 2 x 6V 1650 NiMh and 1 x 4.8V 2700 NiMh from Radical RC
Extensions: Home made Y's and Extensions.
2 Parsons extension clips for Aileron leads.

Can't think of anything else...

Craig.

Are you talking about the 1/3 scale or 1/4 scale. Did a search but couldn't find any info on the new CG. Only for the SU-31
