Had mine for 8 months just need to install the engine now :-).
The dehedrl brace will need much sanding many say, and I also needed to do that , I had to drill out the dowel holes for wing hold down as the holes were not centered all the way through.
Watch before mounting the horizontal stab as mine seem's to not be horizontal and the cause seems to be the mounting area not right level, not my faught except for not nocice ing the problem before gluing or I might havbe been able to build up the low area.
Search p51, lazy, lazy tiger, tiger ect. and you will come upon a few posts.
'Any other questions? Ill read from manuel and post.
I have seen a few post saying that it flys slow and is low wing trainer and very fun and can be flown close and slow.
Manuel is 10 pages I can copy for you at copy shop and mail for the copy and postage cost. I guess a few dollars.

I also have one of these I picked up from a guy with no manual. Another problem solved thanks to RCU.
With an MDS 28 up front (with Spinner) I came out with a CG of 3.5" back from LE. Way nose heavy. I had to mount the RX batt way back in the tail. Mounting that was fun. I had to build some special tools out of dowels and music wire to hold the batt back there while I attached some velcro to the bottom of the tail. Even with the batt that far back I have a CG of just over 4" back (the batt is an AAA NiMH that doesn't weight much). I think the last guy hated it because he said it flew poorly. It may have just been real nose heavy.

Hey guys this plane flyes great!!!
I had one for about 6 months. First I started out with a thunder tiger gp25 on it it was a great combo! Then I got bored with it so I mounted a Megatech 46 on it had to move the battery rx and some lead to the tail but it still flew well. I know I had at least 200 flawless flights on it and it still kept on ticking. Just put some saddle foam on the fuse. The landing gear is the most hearty thing about this plane if you bend it on a rough landing you can just bend it right back! You never rip apart the fuse like on other planes. This plane is very stable and areobatic another great combo. Alas mine went down to its demise probably due to the battery becoming unplugged or discharged. I would like to have another one but I have too many other planes right now. I rate this plane a 10 if your looking for a fun easy to build/fly arf. If I can be any help just let me know I might even still have the instructions somewhere?

I'm guessing he meant put saddle foam on the edge of the fuse that contacts the wing to give it a bettter fit and not have an abrasive rub.
On my lazy p51 I had to put 2 thickness of foam on one side and 1 lawer on the other side to help make the rudder/fin more 90 degree angle as it built a little off.
I love my plane 18 flights before flutter became a problem on the elevators and Im trying to find time to replace the rudder dowel/thin wire with 2/56 run through tubes.
BTW the lazy 51 is my trainer.
My other complaint is the grey covering hard to see a a distance.
Going to recover when I can with easy to see colors, white yellow red ect.
Good luck with yours, Dennis

Thanks Dennis,
I figured that's what he meant. I haven't flown mine yet as it's been quite windy. I read in another post not to fly this plane when it's windy, So I'm waiting for a calm day. I have several other planes to fly anyway.

I had a ball flying the Lazy 51 in the wind!
It just horizontal hovers right in front of you...rolls, snaps...stays put at eye level.
Mine was with an OS 40 FP....Does the nicest tail high landings right down the runway..I used mini's in the wing, battery back...had a blast flying in the wind...Actually I like all funflys in the wind..another dimension of flight.
But that's just me...

I too had an elevator flutter problem with mine. On the 10th flight one of the elevator halves departed the plane at about 20 feet up and right in front of me. I still had decent control and landed with no problem. The CA hinges had torn out of the horizontal stab, still had pieces of balsa adhered to them. I replaced the hinges, and put in a piece of lite ply on the bulkhead behind the radio compartment with two 1/4 inch holes drilled in it to act as a guide for the pushrods. Before this I could grab the rudder or elevator and move them almost full throw with my hand and watch the pushrods bow and flex. The guide plate fixed the problem, no play at all. I have many, many flights on the plane now. It is one of my favorite "knock-around" planes.
