Default wheel pants installation

My latest ARF is an excellent model with one exception. The attachment for the wheel pants just wont work. They show a wire going into the pant, and the pant is held on by a flat piece of nylon (landing gear mounting plate) with two screws holding the plate and the plate is supposed to bend around the wire. First off, the screws going into the plastic pant wont hold (they tear out the plastic, and I don't think the nylon plate will satisfactorily go around the wire. I am thinking of putting a piece of plywood inside of the pant for the screws to have something to go into, but this is still kind of mickey mouse. Is there hardware for sale that is designed specifically gor mounting wheel pants? I remember finding some hardware years ago, but can't locate any now. Suggestions will be welcome.

Sullivan and Sig both make nice pant mounts.

Several companies make nice axles that will do the job.

I will try to find the Sullivan or Sig parts. The tower reference doesn't work if you have a wire landing gear. These are for aluminum landing gears that don't have the axle. Thanks to both of you for your information. Hope it warms up just a little so I can fly.

Sherman the method you mentioned will work. You just need to epoxy a piece of ply in the wheel pant for the screws to get hold of. I also recommend using two straps per side.
