Welcome to the Twist thread Rev. Those are some nice photos of your Twist with the Alps in the background. Is that an O.S. .70 Surpass I see perched on the front of that Twist? You must ski also, living in Innsbruck.

Almost Sinful Photographs. Just unbeleivable to see the Alps looming in the distance. Now here's a guy that could use some "snowboards" on the end of the landing gear.
Yea, welcome to the thread. We all pay out respects and worship the flyability of our little T<->Ts here'
you couldn't meet a nicer bunch of people (without faces) than the regulars on this thread. I'm just hopeful our resident "twistaholic" in upstate New York got a small "fix" on those wonderful photos. I just made on my new desktop wallpaper. .

I thought we were going to escape the snow this year, I was wrong [&:] after last week we have enough to last through the next 4 years of global warming[][&o]

Rev,

Nice pictures. I love the mountains. I have a friend that lives in Colorado and when we were visiting I couldn't take my eye's off the mountains. I asked him if he ever stops looking at them and admiring them, or if they just blend into the backround after a while. He said nope, they never lose there beauty. Now you post a pic with a Twist in front of the Alp's, well, need I say more? Welcome to the thread.

45 degrees today and low winds boys. The Twist is in the back of the truck and just waiting for lunch time to roll around. I will have a flight report for you all later.

Good evening Gentlemen!

Thank you very much for the hearty welcome! I must say, the Twist is an awesome plane and i ordered the second kit today. you never know when they are discontinued and its a nice feeling to have one lying in the shelf :P

Glad you like the Pics! @ Adam G: I live in Innsbruck. absolutely no matter what direction I turn, I see mountains - all of them at least 2500m high. I was born here and then grew up in south africa for some years where everything is flat. The first time I arrived back here after ten years was like coming home. I never want to move somewhere else again...

For those who love the Mountains like I do...

(A BIG Thank-You to Florian "Madcat" Schellhorn who took the pictures with that enormous Camera!)

Welcome aboard Reverend!

Thank you for the beautiful pictures! The T_ _ _ T is indeed a fantastic airplane. Between an old flying partner I once flew with and myself, we have purchased 18 T_ _ _Ts! The first is just as good as the last. I believe you'll see pictures of all the pieces if you read back through this thread! It still has to be my favorite plane! Please keep those fantastic pictures coming and we'll try and return the favor......right Waldo? (Waldo keeps promising us that he's buying a digital camera.....and we keep sticking it to him.)[&o]

Peace,

Downtrodden

Great flights today. I had time to get in 2 good 15 minute flights on her. I was a little nervous that I might have lost my touch. I haven't flown any of my Twists in a while. It actually went pretty well. I did a lot of hovering. I just love the way it hovers when it is about 40 degrees like today. I can lean out my O.S. .61 without worrying about it over heating, and the response is like right now! That is awesome for getting close to the ground with no worries.

I am going to fly again tommorow, and bring the digital camera just for you Waldo. I am hoping someone else is at the field so they can take some pictures of her in the air. If not ground pics will have to do.

Here are some pics of my lunch time flights. The first is my beloved Twist getting her batteries topped off. The second pic is my Stryker ( 80mph plus). The third is my T-Rex heli. And the fourth is a post flight pic of the Twist! Got 2 flights in the Twist, and one on each of the others. All in all, a good lunch hour and a half.

Saturday...........What a day..............going to get our digital lens..........

Funny this topic came up.

At dinner tonight,,,,,,,,Finally,,, the wife told me we need to go and get our digital camera this Saturday, so yes I can finally put down the computer paint brush and start a real pic collection.

And you know where my first pics are going to be posted,,, I'm even going to try and convince her we need one that takes movies as well,,,,,, hey if your gonna spend,,, you should always over spend I say

I'm looking forward to the Pics Adam,, they look great already, and how can you not love the T_ _ _ T against a mountain pic Rev,, Heart wrenching.....

Yes DownT I know there has been a promise,,, and I never ever break a promise,, it may take me 5 to 10 years sometimes, but I always get the job done.[8D]

Its snowing again adding to the delay in snow melting[:@][:@]

Hi!

Great pics there too! Now I finally remember what snow looks like. Apart from a two day snow shower which left a mere 2 cm we haven't had ANY snow this year yet. The mountains are white, of course, but here in the valley at 680m asl completely dry and temperatures rarely below -5°C. This weekend has 17°C forecast again. The media is full of global warming...

Cant wait to see your pics too there Waldopepperaxel! Chuck that money out like theres no tomorow! Reading the papers, there's none anyway [&:]

Time to get the bike out of hibernation too I guess...

Thats a grand T-Rex up there! Budget hasn't gotten me there yet, I'm still on the lighter side with the Eco Piccolo

All the best,
Rev

It's the same here on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevadas Rev. Lots of snow in the mountains but all we have is cold winds blowing in the valley. No snow this year yet.

Howdy guys..well..work has kinda refrained me from flying my T _ _ _ T, but of course it is always a pleasure to visit you all in the most friendly forum on RC Universe......Actually gotta question for ya'll...I actually use a FUTABA 6EXAS for my planes and saw FUTABA is coming out with a 2.4GHz version. Is any of you guys going to switch to such system??I personally love the idea of not having (or most likely not having) any interferance when flying. What do you guys think??Gonna put some 2.4GHz receiver in our T _ _ _ T's belly or not??DOWN....WALDO...TIM...ADAM.......NASWIFTY.. ...how are you guys all doing??any flight time in or is the season keeping you guys inside??Here in California whe had the most beautiful day yesterday...super clear...nice temperature.....few clouds.....very little wind.....but...HONEY DO's kept me away from flying..I'm afraid you guys know how that feels....[]

Dutch. .. ... ....
good to see you back, ol' buddie.
Last week, I was running a route in the big ol' semi truck for three days, and I ran smack dab thru Yuba city twice each night/morning. thought about all the open space you can fly a plane, as long as you dont go out towards where the U2's roam. . .lol
anyways, good to see you back.
My thoughts are that there are cordless phones (household) that operate on 2.4ghz, and seem to have decent range. I think you'll do your homework before converting.
besides: isn't it a little pricie to swap out all the receivers as well as a new transmitter?
I guess if it saves a plane from a hit and uncontrolled contact with terra firma, then it would be worth the cost. . .

Hey guys! I have been flying my twist for almost a year now and just discovered this thread. I have made a wing tip modification on my twist. The flat wing tips just didn't do it for me. Also, I have been flying my twist with a Spektrum DX7 radio since it came out. I have never had any radio hits and the model match saved my twist one time. I gotta say, I LOVE THIS PLANE!!!!! of all of my planes, it is the one that i am confident enough to fly anywhere.

Hi Matt. Welcome to the Twist thread. Come in and have a cold one. It seems all of a sudden RCU has exploded with posts about the DX7 and Spectrum (Spektrum?) technology. Could you help educate me to what it's all about? I think it's on a much higher frequency? How is it possible that someone else can't be on the same channel if they are using a DX7 too?

Hi Tim, The spektrum radio operates on the 2.4ghz band. The way that there is never any interference is that the radio is essentially trasmitting on two frequencies at once in the 2.4 ghz band. The reciever is recieving both frequiencies. If the radio detects a problem on one of them, it will change in flight. Basically the system is constantly changing so that you never have glitches or interference from other modelers. but since there are no set channels, each reciever has to be "binded" to your tx only. all the rx's can be reset and rebinded when ever you want, but the system is great! I used to fly PCM and the Spektrum radio is actually a little bit faster than PCM. I hope that makes sense. simply put, it is a kick a** radio!

Naswifty..thanks for the welcome..*High five*. Man..if you are in the neighborhood sometime, feel free to come out and fly with us..really!!

MATT...welcome to the most friendly thread at RCUniverse!!Too bad you found this thread soo late!!..Grab a chair and sit down with us here...Most of the crew here will introduce themselves to you...There is many, many years of experience here, and we are all "DIE HARD" T_ _ _ T fans/flyers....in fact...I don't think there is another plane out there with such a group of dedicated and hard core fans!!The T _ _ _ T was my 2nd plane, and I am convinced that it is one of the best 2nd planes after a trainer plane.

I too am eye-balling the 2.4 GHz set ups.....mind you..I'm a technology giek too..I love new stuff!!

I know Futaba is coming out with a comparible system. I can't wait to see the development now....

All right Matt...again..welcome to the group.....I can recommend reading the messages..there is a sea of information here..I have learned soo much from those guys here....keep an eye on Downthrodden and Waldo...those guys have a little bed next to their own with the T _ _ _ T in it...they sleep and wake up with their baby...

Dutch, I was going to say it's good to see you posting again, but I forgot. If your weather on the other side of the Sierras is like mine, there is not much flying going on. The wind is blowing about 50 today. I'm not that brave.

I would n't say that i have a bed for t***t in my room. but i baby my t***t more than any of my other planes. I have a quick question, i was hovering about 10 feet off the ground, and then my engine falied. There was not enough room to recover and it hit nose first from about 10 feet. The fuselage broke in half right behind the canopy. I already fixed and it is as good as new, but when i had the covering off, it looked extremely weak. There were only 4 little ply joints holding the tail to the plane. I was wondering if anyone else has managed to crack their fuselage in two at this point. It seems like a weak spot from the factory. I've built many kits and it just seemed as though it was not strong enough and there was very little glue holding it together. I still love my twist, but when i had the covering off, i reglued all the joints and put triangle stock where i could. I seems to be much more solid, but I also haven't crashed it since then.
