Dear All,
Have recently purchased a second hand Cermark Pitts which I intend to put a Zenoah 22 in. Unfortunately, the model came with no instructions.
Would any body that still has the instructions kindly let me know where the Cg point is and what the recommended throws are on the surfaces?
Very Best Regards,
Tim

Hi Tim, The C.G. is 1/4 inch in front of the bottom wings leading edge. The throws according to my book( its about 4 years old) is 1/2 inch on low rates ailerons, 1&3/8 on low rate elevator and 2 & 1/4 on rudder. Hope this helps. Wayne M.

Thanks very much Wayne, I will go with those values and see how I get on.
Thanks for your reply Jim. Unfortunately to purchase a replacement manual here in the UK will cost me 9GBP which I think is a bit excessive just to find out the CG and throws! And i am sure they wouldn't have given me that information freely as they are selling instruction manuals, but thanks anyway.
If anyone can confirm Wayne's info on the latest version of the Pitts, I would be most grateful.
All the best,
Tim

Hi Jim,
Luckily the guy who sold the model to me has found the instruction manual for it. It confirmed the throws and Cg position that Wayne posted.
Fitted with a Zenoah 22 and flew the beast on Sunday. Flies like a dream. It's not overly powered with the 22 up front but has a very scale like presence in the air.
Will certainly enjoy flying this one at the weekends.
Cheers for all you guys help.

Hi Tim, its good to know that your pitts flys good. I am not done with mine. It has been sitting for 4 years and is just now being built. Did your G.C. match what mine said? I hope to fly mine when the weather lets me. I am putting a YS 120 in mine. Wayne M.

Hi Wayne,
I am busting to fly mine again because it flew so well - unfortunately, the weather over here is a bit pants at the moment! You lot keep sending your bad weather over to us [>:] Predicting 60mph winds tomorrow!!!
CG was as you suggested, although I might bring it back a little and have a play. Suggested minimum throws were perfect for test flight and apart from 'upping' the aileron throws a little will not touch them.
It easily held a knife edge, but didn't have enough power for anything more. I think your YS120 will fly it fine! Hurry up and get it finished, I'm sure you won't be dissapointed.
All the best,
Tim
