Default Anyone having problems with the H9 fuel tanks?

Just wondering if anyone else is having a problem with the fuel tanks H9 puts in their kits.

I have 3 different H9 arf planes all .40 size all them have a problems with the tanks splitting on the necks where the seam is.
replacing all with seamless flex tanks.

Anyone suggest any other mods that need to be done to the ultra stick .40,cap 232 .40 or the aresti .40?

Ultra Stick .40 - Reinforce the firewall with tri-stock and pin it through the fuse sides. Reinforce the landing gear mounting plate. Toss the metal gear mounting hardware & mount it with 1/4 x 20 nylon bolts & tee nuts. Toss the engine mount & replace with a Dave Brown or something similar. Reglue all the glue joints you can get to. Cheers

I was considerably underwhelmed with the tank/fittings that came in my 73" H9 CAP 232- will replace it with a Dubro.

It's amazing; they go to the trouble of including excellent Sullivan clevises and horns, good 4-40 hardware, then scrimp on the stupid tank . Ya gotta wonder if it is the bean counters at work, or if they really think this piece of crap tank is up to the rest of the model...

The seam in my US 40's tank split just prior to the maiden flight. Now I am using K2R to get out as much oil as possible and having to pin the firewall back in...

Cheers!

Default tanks

I just picked up my Hanger 9 T-Craft, so I have a fuel tank for sale! Just 10.00 shipped to your trash can. Gonna put in a Dubro. Pete
