Hello Everyone, Flew my 80 PW world Models Extra 300 Today. I wanted to tell you about a few problems I incountered.
I glued the tail section on after two hours of fighting with the blind nuts, After assslebly I still had movement in the tail section, I glued that together , Problem fix!
My Canopany had a 1/4 inch gap at the right rear section, I had to remove the covering and build that up.
the dowel pin fell out of the wing just before my first flight. this would have cause a major problem, like a total lost. I reglued that and checked the other just to make sure.
Re glue every joint you can get to.
I am flying Gas 44 Bme 8411's and PCM with simple smoke.
The Flight was Sweet, No Problems and the smoke was just cool. Good luck with yours

I'm thinking about a similar setup for mine. Can you tell me how the BME pulled the plane? How was the vertical and what is your final weight "dry"?
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!

I had a saito 180 mounted up on mine but I was cocerned about performance. So I got a new MDS 2.18 and it fit in the cowl perfectly and it has a ton of power. Due to the weather in Indiana being less than suitable I have not flown the combo yet, but I am anxiously waiting.
Many people have trashed MDS I have had several and able to work the bugs out of all of them. I ran a tank through my 2.18 and all I have to say is WOW. It swung a 18-10 6850 rpms at full rich and never got hot. When the tank empied it peaked at 7500. It had so much pull I thought the tail was going to rip off. Once I tune it out I should get 8500-9000 with a 14.75 lbs plane. I should have plenty of power with this combo.
